Improve Perinatal Mental Health Services Use the national Mental Health Five Year Forward View as a basis for peri-natal services. We will work with NHS England who commission specialised services. We will raise awareness amongst our partners of the specific mental health and wellbeing issues of these women
Improve Access to Housing for people with mental health issues
Continue supported living projects and ensure supported accommodation is available within the borough Work to highlight the wider issues of housing and mental health to our partners.
Work with the Council lead for the Housing Strategy to ensure housing and homelessness issues of those with mental health problems are fully reflected so that there is adequate general housing available for people who can live independently in the community.
Investigate the potential for a rent deposit scheme
Identify the effect of the housing benefit cap will have on those who use mental health services

Improve access to local inpatient beds for people with mental health problems
We will provide local care where-ever possible. Un-necessary out of area placements will continue to be repatriated wherever possible. Out of area placements for specialist care will continue if appropriate, but with clear discharge planning at the point of assessment.
