THE ASUNIn their second season of ASUN play, the Flames enter the weekend 1-4 in conference play. The Flames were picked to finish fourth in the 2019 ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll. Last season, Liberty posted a 2-3-1 mark in league play, placing fifth.

CHANGE AT THE TOPFor the first time in 20 years, the Flames have a new leader. Kelly Findley has taken over as head coach of the Liberty men’s program. Jeff Alder, who helmed the program for 19 years, stepped down to take another position within the ath-letic department.

A veteran of the coaching ranks, Findley is in his 14th year as a head coach. His previous stops have been at N.C. State, Butler and Mars Hill.

THE KEEPERSRecieving his first start in goal since Sept. 6, Brogan Eng-bers recorded seven saves in Liberty’s 1-0 victory over Jack-sonville, this past Saturday. Engbers tied his career-high for saves in a contest in the match. In five games, the junior has posted a 1.16 goals-against average and a .815 save per-centage in over 388 minutes of play.Freshman Danny Cordero has started 12 contests for the Flames. He has a 1.88 goals-against average and a .593 save percentage in over 1, 051 minutes. Each goalkeeper has recorded a shutout.

ALWAYS READY TO GOSenior midfielder Ruben Garcia will be one of seven Flames honored in pregame ceremonies on Saturday. Garcia is ex-pected to make his 40th consecutive start in the contest. The streak has spanned three seasons for the native of Madrid, Spain.
