RossJonesjoinedtheSt.JohnsRiverStateCollegestaffastheheadbaseballcoachonJune10,2008andassumedtheposi-tionofathleticdirectoronJune1,2009.InhissixseasonsatSJRState,Joneshasaccumulatedanoverallrecordof184-124andaMid-FloridaConference recordof85-58.Thesesix seasonshavebeenamong theprogram’smost successful in its 54 yearhisto-ryandincludetwoMid-FloridaConferenceChampionships(2013and2014)and three trips to theFCSAAState /NJCAARegion8Tournament(2010,2013and2014). During Jones’ first season at the helm, he led the Vikingbaseball teamtoa33-17recordanda fourthplacefinish in theMid-FloridaConference.The2010seasonsawtheVikingbaseballteamreturntotheFCSAA/Region8StateTournamentforthefirsttimesince1989afterfinishingsecondintheMid-FloridaConfer-ence,andin2013,theVikingswontheirfirstMid-FloridaConfer-enceChampionshipsince1977.The2013teamhadanoverallre-cordof38-18andan18-6conferencerecord.The38winsbrokethe previous school record of 33wins in a season by the 2009team.The18conferencewinsbroketherecordof15previouslyheldbythe1968and1970teams. Sixty-eight of Jones’ players have transferred to four yearcolleges afterfinishing their eligibility at SJR State.Of these, 57signedbaseball scholarships.NCAADivision1 schools thathavesignedplayersfromSJRStateincludeFloridaState,theUniversityofNorthFlorida,theUniversityofSouthFlorida,Tulane,theUni-versityofVirginia,WesternKentucky,SouthernAlabama,GeorgiaSouthern, Mercer, Liberty, Villanova, Hofstra, Nichols State andTennessee-Martin.NCAADivision2schoolsthathavesignedSJRState players include national powers Tampa, Florida Southern,ValdostaStateandWestFlorida. JonesbeganhiscoachingcareerasanassistanttoDustyRhodes at the University ofNorth Florida,wherehe spentatotalofthreeseasonsintwoseparatestints(1993and2000-2001). CoggincomestoSJRStateviaMississippi.Duringhisplayingcareer,hewasatwo-timeAll-StateshortstopatBoonevilleHighSchoolandanAll-StateshortstopatNortheastMississippiCommunityCollege.HecontinuedhisplayingcareeratMississippiStateUniversity,whereheplayedfortwoyears(2007and2008)underlegendarycollegebaseballcoachRonPolk.Cogginwasamemberofthe2007BulldogteamthatplayedintheCollegeWorldSeriesinOmaha,Nebraska. Afterhisplayingcareerended,heassistedtheMSUbaseballstaffwithscouting,videoanalysisandcoordi-natingbaseballcamps.Heworkedundertwocurrentheadcoaches,MSU’sJohnCohen,whoisregardedbymanyasoneofthemostinnovativecoachesincollegiatebaseball,andLaneBurroughs,currentheadcoachatNorth-westernStateUniversity(LA).Whileonstaff,Cogginwaspartoftworegional,onesuper-regional,andanSECtournamentchampionshipteam. DuringCoggin’stimeatSJRState,theVikingshaveaccumulateda75-32overallrecordanda38-10overallrecordintheMid-FloridaCon-ferenceandwonback-to-backMid-FloridaConferenceChampionships. Cogginearnedhisbachelor’sdegreeinKinesiologyin2009andamaster’sdegreeinSportsAdministrationin2012fromMississippiStateUniversity.

RennerhailsfromLosAngeles,CA,wherehegraduatedfromChatsworthHighSchoolin2009.Inhighschool,RennerwaspartofthreeLosAngelesCityChampionshipsandwasthe2009LosAngelesCityPlayeroftheYear.HewentontopitchattheCollegeofSouthernIdahoin2010and2011.HefinishedhiscollegiatecareerattheUniversityofNorthFloridain2012and2013underHeadCoachSmokeLavalandwaspartofthe2013UNFteamthatsettherecordforwinsinasingleseasonattheD-1level.RennerwasanAll-AtlanticSunConferencepitcherbothyearsatUNF.In2014,aftercompletinghiscareeratUNF,RennerservedasthepitchingandfirstbasecoachforPalatkaHighSchool. DouglasisnationallycertifiedinAthleticTrainingbytheBoardofCertificationandislicensedbytheStateofFlorida’sDepartmentofHealth.HeisamemberoftheNationalAthleticTrainer’sAssociationandtheJacksonvilleSportsMedicineProject.
