December Anniversaries
Psalm 4 (NIV)
A psalm of David
1 Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer. 2 How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods. 3 Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him. 4 Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. 5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD. 6 Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us. 7 Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. 8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.

News from the Food Pantry: Submitted by Elizabeth Eubanks
Turkeys! Turkeys! Turkeys! November has been a wonderful
month for our Pantry! We gave out 130 turkeys and food bags!
Thank you to each one of you who gave money, helped pack
bags, or helped on our Turkey Giveaway Day. In addition, we helped 272 families with
grocery sacks. Thank you to Fairview Elementary School students and staff who gave
us over 3000 cans of food. This was such a blessing! In December, we will have our
Christmas Turkey and Food Bag Giveaway on Tuesday, December 18. If you would
like to help pack the bags for the giveaway, please come to the church on Monday,
December 17 at 9 AM. Thank you!
Goddard United Methodist Women Submitted by Elizabeth Eubanks, UMW President
Our UMW General Meeting will be held on Tuesday evening, December 11 at 6 PM. This is our Christmas Potluck Dinner. Shannon Stoddard will be bringing thirty young people from the Community School of the Arts to provide a musical program for us. Pastor Kim will be installing our new officers. Please mark your calendar, bring your favorite potluck dish, and join us for our UMW Christmas Celebration!
This year was very special to the Community Rescue Mission as we provided 96
pies, cakes, and cupcakes to the Mission. These will be used for Thanksgiving and Christmas to feed individuals and families.
We lived the scripture from the Bible: “Feed My Sheep”.
It was an honor to represent Goddard in this great ministry as the representatives at the Mission expressed great appreciation.
