MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

between

Griffith University Queensland, Australia

and

Fleming College, Canada

This Memorandum of Understanding constitutes an agreement between Griffith University (GU) and Fleming College (FC).

Objective of the Agreement Griffith University agrees to facilitate the block transfer of students from Fleming College with appropriate prerequisite qualifications and grades into the related Griffith degree. By this agreement, applicants from Fleming College who meet the requirements outlined in the attached schedule will be eligible for admission to GU with full block transfer credit, provided all other entrance criteria, including a credit 65%+, are met and space remains available in the related program of study. Entrance to all GU programs is on a competitive basis.

• GU will grant up to two years of advanced standing (i.e., entry into the fifth semester or third year) of related GU undergraduate Bachelor degree on completion of a Fleming College Advanced Diploma.

• GU will grant up to one and half years of advanced standing (i.e., entry into the fourth semester) of a related GU undergraduate Bachelor degree on completion of a Fleming College Diploma.

• GU will grant up to one semester of advanced standing (i.e., entry into the second semester) of a related GU postgraduate Masters degree on completion of a Fleming College Postgraduate Certificate where entry into the program was by undergraduate degree.

• GU will accept for entry into related Masters programs, providing all entry criteria are satisfied and places are available, students who have successfully completed an Ontario College Degree in Applied Studies.

Programs Defined by this Agreement The articulation programs for the Fleming College programs listed in the attached schedules are included in this agreement.

Conditions and Agreed Responsibilities As party to this Agreement, Fleming College agrees to:

• Make information about this agreement and the GU programs options available to students enrolled in related Fleming College programs; and,

• Provide opportunity for GU representatives to visit appropriate forums at Fleming College to disseminate information about the GU programs.

As party to this agreement, GU agrees to:

• Accept students who meet the criteria identified above from Fleming College providing all conditions as outlined in this agreement are met;

• Provide Fleming College with updated information about the GU programs;

• Notify Fleming College with as much lead time as possible, of any program changes or requirements.

Liaison Both parties agree to appoint and identify a key authority or individual responsible for liaison and implementation of this agreement.

Review Both institutions will be responsible for a regular review of the program no later than April 1 of each year. This review may make appropriate and mutually agreed modifications as required and identify new opportunities for co-operation.

Terms of the Agreement This Memorandum of Understanding will be effective when both parties have signed this Memorandum and shall remain in force until terminated by either party giving the other party 6 months notice. Griffith University retains the right to limit the number of students admitted under this agreement. This Agreement may be amended or modified at any time by the mutual consent of the cooperating institutions. The termination of this Agreement shall allow for any participating students who have commenced at either institution at the date of the termination to complete their approved course of study.
