Grantmaking
Starting in 2014, the La Jolla Community Foundation launched its first competitive grantmaking cycle focused on Arts and Science. Once applications are received and narrowed down, the LJCF membership will have the opportunity to vote on their top choices of grants to fund. The wining grant(s) will be celebrated at a grants ceremony in November 2014.
Murals of La Jolla
The goal of these temporary art installations is two-fold — to promote dialogue and connection among residents as well as to enhance the beauty and aesthetic character of our community.

Coastal Environmental Pedestals
These educational pedestals along the La Jolla shoreline provide information about the coast’s environment, animals and history.
La Jolla Fire Pits
When the City of San Diego sought to reduce costs by eliminating the fire pits on La Jolla Shores, we granted the funds necessary for the preservation of these recreational assets.
Inspired by the desire to enrich the environmental, social and cultural experience of La Jolla, a small group of La Jolla residents have come together to create the La Jolla Community Foundation (LJCF). Working in partnership with The San Diego Foundation, the purpose of this charitable foundation is to inspire others to engage in significant philanthropy to enhance the La Jolla community for generations to come.
Funds raised through the La Jolla Community Foundation will be used for immediate grantmaking as well as for an endowment for the future benefit of La Jolla.
