Greeting Fellow Members Good day to all. I hope everyone is having a great summer. We have had a lot of things going on between Family Feud and Night at the Races. Congratulation to Larry Avenal, Steve Moore, Matt Sheehan & John Howard for their winning Family Feud. Congratulations to District Deputy for a very successful Golf Tournament a great day was had by all Congratulations to Nick Squillacioti and Keith Fudge for being the big winners
The Medford/Malden Elks will be participating in the Parade complete with Marchers, Antique cars and a float! We are looking to show our pride and gratitude by having some of our Veterans ride on the float or in our vintage cars!!! Members and their families are also welcome! We will be meeting at our lodge at 12pm and carpooling to Medford High School. After the parade, we will continue the fun back at the Medford/Malden lodge for lunch and festivities! Please see Kim Calder or Mary Fitzgerald ASAP as limited space is available. There will also be a sign up sheet
in the members lounge.

The Medford Malden Elks will have a table at Medford's Community Day Celebration. The theme of our table will be the Elks Drug Awareness campaign where we will be handing out educational brochures and fun items to our kids. Please come by and bring your families! It is sure to be a GREAT day! Please see Paul Hebert, Mary Fitzgerald or Kim Calder for more information.
And a big THANK YOU TO Mark Sheehan, Matt Sheehan, Nick Squillacioti and Jeff for bringing the trophy home to Medford-Malden 915. We have several things coming up. Sept 12 we will be holding our 9/11 lunch for our firefighters and police officers. We are asking for donations of deserts and drivers. All are welcome. Sept 13 will be our Dare Day at Medford Community day, Freedom Way behind the Andrews middle School. Hope to see many of you there. The 19th is our Steak and Lobster Dinner. Tickets do have to be purchased in advance. Sept 27th we will be marching in the Medford Parade with a celebration back at the lodge. Please let me know if you wish to participate. Finally at our last members meeting District Deputy Bill Hanley stepped down from his position as leading Knight and Jim Dervishian resigned from his 2 year trustee position. Nominations for both positions will be at September 10th meeting and voted on at the September 24th meeting. Once again Phil Towne and crew will be making and delivering lunch to Medford’s
Firehouses. Volunteers are much appreciated to help with food prep, desserts and
deliveries. Please See Phil Towne or Brighid Crowe for details.

DISTRICT DEPUTY GOLF TOURNAMENT Congratulations to Bill Hanley, District Deputy, Metro North on a successful and fun filled Golf Tournament. This year more than 70 Golfers came to the Meadows Golf Course in Peabody on hot and sunny Monday. The day included special Golf Course Events 50/50, closest to the pin, longest drive) and ended with a fabulous awards lunch and raffle. Medford-Malden Elks very own team walked away with the trophy. Congratulations Matt Sheehan and Team on a great day of Golf. Our raffle table was filled with great items. Special thanks to so many people for all the help in organizing this great event. METRO NORTH DISTRICT DEPUTY CLINIC Medford – Malden’s own Bill Hanley, DDGER for the Metro North successfully completed his first District Deputy clinic hosted by the Winchester Lodge of Elks and Exalted Ruler Bobby Sansone. Along with a fabulous dinner the evening consisted of informative speeches presented by Bill Hanley, Bill Hopkins, Past State President, Tony Piccolo, Area 3 Special Representative, Harry See, State President Elect, Mike Zellen, Endorsed Candidate for GER. The Clinic was well attended by the Metro North District Lodges and Medford-Malden Elks presented well with 17 members in attendance to support our District Deputy.
