The East Allegheny Business Association was formed in 1980 by a few business people in East McKeesport. The Association grew to encompass East McKeesport, North Versailles, Wall, Wilmerding, and surrounding areas. The main purpose is to be a community of business people interacting to encourage the growth of business in our area of Pennsylvania. The EABA meets once a month to network with each other and enjoy lunch at “Banquets Unlim- ited” in Wilmerding. The luncheon includes a speaker brought in to enhance the business practices of our members, also a scholarship competition among six students takes place over the course of six months. The EABA welcomes any business person, active or retired, to come and be a part of a growing organization. Leaving her partnership service, Sandy began Priority One Medical Transport with one ambulance (she purchased that day), a cardiac monitor, blood pressure cuff, her brother, John Kolesar, as EMT, and Sandy as the company’s only Paramedic! Three nursing facilities had contracted for ambulance service (Eileen Jordan’s, Hamilton Hills, and Wilkins House). Family members, Mom, Anna (Sandy), and sister Susan Blake), answered the phones and dispatched the crew from their home. And Father, the late John Kolesar, drove the transport van, gave business and financial advice, and helped keep it all together with his foresight, wisdom and pride. Over the past 20 years, Priority One Emergency Medical Services has grown into one of the largest, and of course, best, privately owned ambulance services in Pennsylvania, serving four local municipalities, 24 Nursing, Skilled, and Personal Care Facilities, numerous physician offices and private residences. With over 60 employees, 12 ambulances, 3 wheelchair vans, and an ALS Paramedic Response Unit. Priority One continues to grow and be a dybanic force in pre-hospital care, with the “family” touch. Editor’s Personal NoteWhen I attended the May 5th meeting with many of

you I never imagined that one week later, my life, as I knew it to be, would forever change. On May 11th my
