returned home
to us.
We had a
couple of new
faces joining in
the fun. Good
to meet you all. Welcome and we look
forward to seeing you at our upcom-
ing gatherings.
Thanks to our Andy for sharing the
dancing Santa Hat! Thanks to our
John for sharing his special Holiday
Bling. That's amazing! Our youngest
PALS member joined in the fun and
was also in good spirits -- giggles all
around from him, too.
We are looking ideas for the March
Gathering. Please reach out with your
ideas. Maybe we should mix it up a
bit and go for drinks on a Friday
night? What do you say? We love to
hear from you.
As always, the Annual Holiday
Party and Gift Exchange is one of the
most fun and best attended PALS
events. This year was no exception.
There were gifts a-plenty to go
around. Everyone who brought a gift
had an opportunity to trade up to
(and/or steal) something new. By my
calculation, not a single "pre-burned
candle" could be seen. A good time
was had by all.
Thanks again to our David for the
DVDs. It seems that somebody
walked away with a few of them.
Maybe the deck was stacked in their
favor? I'm sitting next to them next
time….
So much fun catching up with past
holiday stories and upcoming travel
adventure plans. I hope everyone
who was planning a long drive has
arrived safely at their destinations and

Shawnee PlayhouseShawnee PlayhouseShawnee PlayhouseShawnee Playhouse - each year, the Worthington Players produce original works by local and surrounding area playwrights through it Shawnee Original Playwright Series (S.O.P.S.). Established in 2009, S.O.P.S. offers playwrights an avenue to hone their skills and have their work seen on stage before a live audience. Playwrights submit their original work to be read by our performers during a series of evenings, and the listeners vote on what they would like to see produced. The Shawnee Executive committee then reviews all scoring and comments, and the winning script, or scripts, are produced as a fully staged show. The resulting winners are the best of the best, and the audience has a chance to see a world premier play! Submissions are now being ac-cepted for the 2017 productions. The submission deadline is Decem-ber 31, 2015. Works must be original and unpublished. Submissions must be accompanied by a submission fee. Information and forms: www.theshawneeplayhouse.com/original-playwrights. Shawnee Play-house places no limits on the genre, style, or length of plays submitted.

Trivia Anyone? ~???????~
1. Q: Who sang "Boots," which became a camp classic because of its kitschy video, and began the first of four weeks at Billboard's #1 spot on February 20, 1966?
2. Q: Who was first African American woman
to give the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention? (She was also gay and, in 1973, the first African American to be elected to the Texas Senate.)
There you have it - when you think you know it all…
Answers: 1. Nancy Sinatra

Note from the Geek:Note from the Geek:Note from the Geek:Note from the Geek:
Hello again from the Geek. Here we are at the end of yet another year. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve 2015. 2016
is right around the proverbial corner. It is, as usual, the time that we say goodbye to the old and welcome the
new. We make promises to ourselves and our families, friends (of the human and furry varieties), about things
we will change forever and ways that we can be better people.
It's not so easy being a better person. Sometimes, we want to do the right things but the wrong words come
out. Intent is the key. Intention of kindness behind your words and deeds may be the best we can do. That's OK.

American Savage: Insights, Slights, and Fights on Faith, Sex, Love, and Politics, by
Dan Savage - Dan Savage has always had a loyal audience, thanks to his syndicated
sex-advice column "Savage Love," but since the incredible global success of his It
Gets Better project - his book of the same name was a New York Times bestseller -
his profile has skyrocketed. In addition, he's written for The New York Times, Rolling
Stone, The Onion, GQ, The Guardian, Salon.com, and countless other widely read
publications. Savage is recognized as someone whose opinions about our culture,
politics, and society should not only be listened to but taken seriously. Now, in
American Savage, he writes on topics ranging from marriage, parenting, and the gay
agenda to the Catholic Church and sex education.
