Melissa Farber is an Associate in the Firm’s Insurance andReinsurance Services group.

Melissa concentrates her practice in the areas of insuranceand complex litigation matters in New Jersey and New Yorkstate and federal courts.

Melissa has several years of experience representinginsurance companies, international shippers, and businessowners in complex commercial disputes and insurancecoverage matters. She has been involved in all aspects oflitigation including the drafting of pleadings, motions,discovery demands, and appeals, as well as attendingdepositions and court proceedings.

Melissa has participated in the briefing for several appeals infederal court involving personal and advertising injury claimssounding in intellectual property, fraud, conspiracy,misappropriation of trade secrets, and breach of fiduciaryduties. She has also managed federal court maritime casesarising from damaged cargo valued at millions of dollars.

In 2004, Ms. Farber served as a judicial intern to theHonorable Nancy Sivilli, Superior Court of New Jersey.

REV.COMM. 64 (2016): The Commentary explores theinsurance implications of the NFL concussion litigation. Specifically, it highlights how dispositive choiceof law determinations will be to the outcome of the litigation, as jurisdictions apply competing theoriesof policy interpretation, including when coverage is triggered, the duty to defend, and other policyexclusions.
