Call for Future Artists to represent EcoFuture

At EcoFuture, we believe it’s important to support local art and design students.

We are inviting participation from second and third year Mixed Illustration class studentscurrently enrolled at Monash University to turn their hand in decorating a custom-designedlife-sized elephant calf for and on-behalf of EcoFuture.

Each fi breglass elephant is a blank 3D canvas and we want artists to create innovative, inspiring and environmentally conscious designs who will be taking to the streets of Melbourne for 6 weeks.

Each elephant weighs approximately 65Kgs and measures, 190cm long by 130cm tall to 80cm wide.

From 12th March until 6th April 2012, students are invited to submit a maximum of two (2)designs. A jury will then judge the design submissions, and the winner notifi ed by email to Ned Culic, Lecturer & 2nd Year Coordinator, Visual Communication, Faculty of Art Design &Architecture, Monash University.

Once commissioned and on completion of your artwork and all relevant paperwork, the winning student will be paid a one-off honorarium fee of $1000.

The $1000 cheque will be presented by EcoFuture, at a date and time to be announced.

The winner will also be acknowledged on all marketing communications including websites and other promotional opportunities.

Students should draw inspiration from the environment, which refl ects EcoFuture’s way of doing business. It might be through innovative technology to reduce harmful chemicals and waste or it might be through a clever blend of natural textures and materials to protect our preciousenvironment and wildlife.

Where possible, artists are encouraged to incorporate conservation and environmental themes consistent with Zoos Victoria’s strategy.
