4. PERFOHUB SUSPENSIONRenault Sport’s ‘PerfoHub’ independent steering axis in the Mégane R.S. 265 ensures stable front suspension under hard acceleration or when applying a significant amount of steering lock, cutting torque-steer. Renault Sport Technologies’ innovative independent steering axis front suspension has been engineered to overcome the drawbacks commonly associated with powerful front-wheel-drive cars subjected to high forces, such as self-steering input through tight corners and poor straight-line stability induced by torque steer.

5. STOP & START TECHNOLOGY Stop & Start technology involves automatically cutting the engine when the vehicle is at a standstill, reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

This innovative system will stop the engine (standby mode) when it detects a standstill (i.e. traffic jams and red traffic lights). Standby mode is activated when the gearbox is in neutral, when the clutch pedal is released and if the vehicle is travelling at less than 3 km/h.

The engine will restart when you press the clutch pedal and move into gear.

6. VISIO SYSTEMRenault’s Visio System is designed to increase driver safety. It works with a front camera located between the windscreen and the internal rear-view mirror. If the driver is distracted, the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) will warn the driver in case of involuntary crossing of a broken or unbroken line (if indicators are not used).

The ‘automatic high beam lights’ function adjusts the strength of the lights to suit the environment. It maximises illumination, whilst increasing safety by avoiding glare to oncoming or preceding traffic by automatically switching to low-beam mode.

1. RENAULT SPORT MONITOR The Renault Sport Monitor, available across the Mégane R.S. range, provides the driver with real-time data on the road. This unique system is directly inspired by technology employed in motorsport. Drivers can scroll through the system’s different functions using the steering wheel mounted controls. Information displayed on the dash-mounted screen includes:> data for the main engine functions including oil temperature and brakes plus real-time engine performance data (torque, power)> transverse and longitudinal g-force> lap timer with memory function> driving performance data, such as acceleration times

2. LIMITED-SLIP DIFFERENTIALMégane R.S. 265 features Renault’s renowned Cup chassis which, combined with a limited-slip differential, delivers outstanding traction and ensures greater stability when braking. In addition to improving the efficient transmission of power to the road and enhancing performance, the limited-slip differential delivers progressive, reassuring handling whatever the driving style. It kicks in immediately under hard acceleration and cornering to free up the car’s full braking potential and allow for faster acceleration, sooner.

3. DYNAMIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEMThe Renault Sport Dynamic Management system on the Mégane R.S. 265 optimises the engine sound and allows the driver to choose the degree of electronic aid they want in different situations:> ‘Normal’ mode: ESC, ASR traction control and emergency brake assist are all activated. The pedal mapping ensures smooth acceleration,

making this mode ideally suited to everyday use.> ‘Sport’ mode: for less intrusive ESC action. ‘Sport’ mode releases the 265hp and 360Nm torque for the ultimate driving experience.

Although the ESC and ASR are still active, they intervene at a later threshold allowing sportier driving. The pedal mapping is modified to permit swifter engine response and provide extra torque at low revs.

> ‘Off’ mode: for your unleashed driving pleasure, typically on a circuit. The ESC is fully disconnected, while the pedal mapping ensures instant response from the engine and delivers all available torque and over-torque at low revs.
