FaRM TO FrIDGeHow does the milk from Lee Valley Park Farms reach your fridge?

Put this sequence in the correct order, numbering sentences from 1 to 10.

Labels are stuck on to the filled milk bottles or cartons.

The fresh milk from the silos is heated to get rid of any germs. This process is called being ‘pasteurised’.

The mother cow’s milk flows from the machine into a refrigerated tank to keep it nice and cool.

When the different types of pasteurised milk are ready, they are poured into cartons or bottles.

The fresh milk is transferred from the truck’s tank into big chilled containers, called silos.

The female cow has a calf.

Once labelled, the pasteurised milk is transported to your local shop.

A truck comes and takes the cows’ milk away in another special tank.

After the milk has been pasteurised, the cream is separated to make different types of milk – whole, semi-skimmed and skimmed.

The mother cow feeds her baby for a few days, then she is milked by machines in the milking parlour every day.
