The Conference Center at the Science History Institute has the formula

for events perfected. Simplicity, sustainability, and unique scientific

motifs result in a one-of-a-kind experience. Situated in historic Old

City, Philadelphia, our building was constructed using modern recycled

materials and operates using sustainable practices. Flexible spaces,

friendly event experts, modern AV equipment, and on-call tech support

all work together to accommodate any event.

Our venue offers over 13,500 square feet of flexible interior space

with an additional 4,500 square feet of outdoor space suited for

your every meeting and event need. Our spaces combine a historic

bank building transformed into a museum and library along with a

newly constructed conference center. We look forward to assisting

you with every detail of your event. We have it all down to a science.

Ullyot Meeting Hall

• Ideal for speaking engagements, panel discussions, or any large social gathering

• Divide Ullyot into two spaces for flexible use

Capacity: 40 to 300 guests

The Overlook Lounge

• Perfect for unwinding between meetings or hosting a chic reception

• Situated above the museum, guests can get a great view of the space


The Franklin Rooms

• Host professional and personalized lectures seamlessly

• Combine both Franklin Rooms for maximum capacity or separate for intimate experiences


The Otto Röhm and Otto Haas Room

• Gaze over Independence Park within this modern and naturally lit space

• This midsize space is the perfect mix of tech and style, making it great for corporate meetings and workshops

Additional Indoor & Outdoor Spaces We also have a variety of additional spaces that can accommodate any event.

Jacobs Reading RoomHost a unique event in our historic Jacobs Reading Room. High ceilings, palladium windows, and Doric columns built originally as the First National Bank in 1865 – 1867. Additionally, the architect who created this wonderful space also designed Philadelphia’s City Hall.

Dow Public Square This beautiful atrium with 50 foot ceilings is part of our modern spaces. This space is connected to the Jacobs Reading Room and is a wonderful location for receptions and dinners up to 300 guests.

Garden AreaBreathe fresh air into your event with our outdoor courtyard space. The Garden Area can be accessed through Ullyot Meeting Hall.

Rent our Entire Facility This rental guarantees that the entire 13,500 square feet of our event space is dedicated to your attendees, allowing for complete personalization.

All of our conference rooms are equipped with an LED projector,

projection screens, Wi-Fi, a flip chart, and a lectern with

microphone where necessary. Tech managers, on-site event staff,

and full-service catering are all readily available to make your

meeting or event the best it can be.

favor of china, glassware,

and flatware to make events

as sustainable as possible.
