Summary

ParticipantsandAgendaLKDFpartnersfromtheprivatesector,thepublicsector,andthedevelopmentsectoraswellasinterestedobserversattendedtheAPLW2016meetinginMorocco.

PrivatesectorpartnersincludedLKDFpartnersVolvo,Scania,OCPFoundation,Aikagroup,andEONRealityaswellasinterestedobserversfromShell,OMV,andSMTGroup.

PublicsectorpartnersincludedrepresentativesfromtheLiberianMinistryofEducationaswellasinterestedobserversfromtheMinistriesofVocationalTrainingofSenegalandCoted’Ivoire.

DevelopmentsectorpartnerswererepresentedbyUSAID,Sida,theGovernmentofFinland,theSwedishEmbassy(allLKDFpartners)andbyinterestedobserversfromGIZ,LuxDev,theWorldBank,IFC,andtheEuropeanUnionMissiontoLiberia.

AttendeesrelatedtotheLKDFPPDPsincludedVTCmanagers,CTAsandUNIDOfieldstafffrom6LKDF PPDPs: AGEVEC (Morocco), HDECoVA (Ethiopia), SAT (Iraq), ZAMITA (Zambia), JHEOS(Liberia),andSADCForest(SouthAfrica)aswellasLKDFstafffromUNIDOHQinVienna.

ObjectivesThe objective of the Annual Partners Learning Workshop (APLW) was to reflect jointly andsystematically on lessons-learnt so far. This was done through a series of focused lines ofinquiryandworkshopsessionsthataimedtodeliverlearningexchange.

The objectives of the 4th APLW, held from 13th-14th December 2016 inMorocco were: 1)Update on the progress of the LKDF and individual Public Private Development Partnership(PPDP)projects,2)Learningsessionsonkeythematictopics,suchas“ResultsoftheLKDFandGoalsforthenextthreeyears”anda“TrainingonthePPDPapproach”,3)VisitoftheAGEVECproject.

In conjunctionwith theAPLW, a leadership seminarwasorganizedon11thDecember 2016.The aim of the seminar was to facilitate and exchange between managers from vocationaltrainingcentreshostingaPPDPproject.VTCmanagersandChiefTechnicalAdvisors(CTAs)fromLKDFPPDPprojectsparticipatedinthisseminar.Inaddition,twotrainingsonISOstandardsandCareerCentreshavebeenheldon12thDecemberand15thDecember,respectively.
