Our ExpectationsOur Expectations
Now that the pupils are in Primary 5, there will be a continued expectation that all children respect the environment in which they are learning and respect others belongings.
We expect good behaviour and good manners at all times.
We ask the children to try their best at all times, working neatly and productively.
How you can help?How you can help?Please support your children in preparing for
school each day, your child should bring: a sharp pencil and ruler a rubber a pritt stick reading record and homework diaries a healthy, nut free snack a P.E kit- black shorts and white t-shirt
(including jogging bottoms and outdoor P.E shoes)

of their belongings.

tables, quick fire mental maths sums in real life contexts. Encourage use of Sumdog and Purple Mash.

HomeworkHomeworkWe would appreciate all homework to be
signed. Spelling – Spelling homework is set on a
Monday and should be handed in by Friday. Pupils are tested on Friday.
Look, say, cover, write, check.
Weekly spelling should be completed with the appropriate spelling activity noted in homework jotters.
Reading Reading Your child will take part in Ready for Reading
weekly. Homework will be given on a Tuesday and is due the following week.
Maths Maths Maths homework will be set on Monday and
should be returned on Friday. This may include a challenge on Sumdog.
Other Curricular Areas Other Curricular Areas Homework challenges or additional tasks may
link to our topic when appropriate.
Support for LearningSupport for Learning Mrs Kellner and Mrs Combe will provide
extra support.

The Romans-Social Studies, Expressive Arts and literacy focus.
Maths- place value, estimating and rounding and addition. WL Money Week focus.
Literacy- Ready for Reading, writing linked to the Romans (describing a scene, diary entry, newspaper report and persuasive letter), spelling and grammar
RME- famous ChristiansHealth and Wellbeing- ball skills (P.E) and internet safetyFrench- general revision of key greetings, numbers and
colours
There will be a parent information evening for parents of pupils going to Dalguise on Thursday 15th September.
