Informational Sessions
To accommodate the large number of students visiting my classroom today, I will hold group sessions every 15 minutes.
You will receive a packet of information that includes the following:

Browse through the informational Welcome to Technology Class packet and read the supplies list.
To learn more about you, please complete the Welcome! handout. Give it to me as you leave this classroom today.
Read and sign the Tech Contract. Take it home with you, put it in your tech class folder, and show it to me for 10 points on the first day of class.
Instructions
This is my 7th year teaching with the Mesa Academy for Advanced Studies. I teach all computer science and literacy classes and the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), levels 1 - 3.

About Me
I have four children – one is an ASU grad, two are students at Arizona State University, and one is an Academy Knight!
Family
The Procopio Family
For ten years, I worked as a network administrator of a charter school management company where I built computers, oversaw networks and maintained databases.
As a teacher, for the past 23 years, I've taught K-12 computer science and literacy courses.
Employment History
My education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from Eastern Michigan University and the University of Phoenix, a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from the University of Michigan (currently in process), SEI and Cooperative Education endorsements, and CTE, A+ and IC3 certifications.
Education
The Procopio Family
Students will not use USB drives for storage. They will save their assignments to their personal folders on school servers and Dropbox, and submit their assignments to their class shared folder on Dropbox.
All Classes, please bring:
One spiral, college-ruled notebook.
One folder with three-prongs and two pockets.
Optional – one pair of ear buds from dollar store in a baggie or small storage container.
What to bring to class…
5th Grade only – Animal crackers and plain M&Ms.
6th, 7th and 8th Grade classes only – (optional) ruler and colored pencils.
Classroom donations - liquid hand soap, Kleenex, Clorox wipes, inexpensive dish towels, compressed air, and small plastic baggies.
In all classes, we use Dell laptops, Windows XP, Windows Movie Maker and the Office 2010 Suite.
In CB91 Animation Studio, we use Adobe Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash.
Students may download a free, 60-day trial of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel by visiting the Microsoft download webpage or following the link on my teacher website.

Meetings

Club members may use the classroom before school, during lunch and after school (time TBD) during NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in November.
