Biossedimentological Aspects of Pre-Salt Carbonates andthe Challenges of Reservoir Geological Modelling

• To biosed or not to biosed - that's the challenge. Pre-Salt rocksstill have very basic scientific challenges as rock classification andgenesis, ancient depositional scenarios and their spatial variabili-ties basinwide, and reservoir heterogeneities and modelling.

Usually known as microbialites (microbial rocks), the Pre-Salt car-bonatic rocks also encompass coquinas (shelly rocks), each one infact making part of an extreme depositional systems with noextant relative, demanding analogies from different case studies,in diverse scales, as a Biosedimentological issue.
