FROM THE HENHOUSE TO THEHOUSE OF BBQ............

100+ Years of Brooks’ History.

1912 Grandma and Grandpa McClelland start a chicken farm in Stamford, NY (DelawareCounty).

1951 Frances, the McClelland’s daughter, and

her husband Gri n Brooks begin

a barbecue chicken catering operation.

Business is great and soon theyare operating April to September.

1958 Gri�n and Frances open a successful concession stand at the Del-Sego Drive-in movie theatre which was located down the road from today’s restaurant.

1961 e Brooks’ dream ofowning a restaurant is realized and the Brooks’ House of Bar-B-Q opens with 80 seats

and 15 employees.

1965In response tooverwhelming success, the

family acquiresthe Holcomb Farm and buildstoday’s 300 seat restaurant and one of America’s largest indoor charcoal pits.

1975 Gri�n and Frances sellthe business to their son Johnand his wife Joan who continueto expand the restaurant andcatering operations as Brooks’reputation grows far and wide.
