• Upon completion of this CBL the learner will have a basic understanding of how to:
- Modify an existing Med
- Document Compliance
NOTE: •Please remember this module demonstrates Cerner Medication List functionality only.
•Consult you Clinical management team with any questions you may have about clinical workflow.
• Open the patient record...• Open the Menu... • Open the Medication List band...
• Locate the Med by Hx that you wish to update (Scroll Icon)...
NOTE: For this training we will use Lasix as our example
• Then Right click on the medication (Lasix) to open the Menu...
• Now click “Modify”
• Then complete the “Details” section...
Document the Dose...
The Route of Administration...
The Frequency...
• When you have completed the Details, scroll down and find the Type of Therapy...
• Document the Type of Therapy: - Acute (pain med after surgery) - Maintenance (Coreg-Cardiac)
• Now click the “Compliance tab:
- Document the appropriate Status...
- The appropriate Information source...
- The Last Date and Time dose was taken...
Comments may be added in this section
If a patient is NOT taking a medication as ordered, please document the reason in the comment box below and follow your established clinical protocol to communicate the information to the Provider.
When you are done click the Orders for Signature button
Review the changes:•If it is NOT correct click the “Refresh” button and start over...
• If it is correct then click the “Sign” button and complete the process.
Lasix has been updated.
