Each Industry Immersion Experience features activities to build your skills and knowledge about work in this industry. Your teacher will take you through these activities back at school.
Activity A (designed for Levels 7 & 8)SCIENCE – Science as Human Endeavour

Create an infographic (by hard copy as a poster or using a digital format) detailing the journey the drug has been on since its discovery including who discovered it, who developed it, how it has been packaged and what it has been used for.

Activity B (designed for Levels 9 & 10)HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION – Contributing to Healthy and Active Communities

Separate the class into three groups; one group is PRO the anti-obesity pill, one group is ANTI the pill and the third group are to act as the medical assessment board who will either approve the release of the pill or deny it. Each person in the PRO and ANTI groups must come up with at least ONE reason as to why this pill is either a good idea or a bad one.
Each person has a minute to present their argument. The ‘Medical Assessment Board’ will decide the winners at the conclusion of all arguments.
