Premier Pro

• Colour

We edited the brightness and contrast of color throughout our music video. We used the colour correct tool to bring out red more and dampen the other coulours, this helps the ties to stand out more. Then copied these effects onto all of Kate’s narrative shots with the schoolgirls so it flows and feels more like a story.

• Mirror effect

Start by copying and pasting the same clip on top of each other in the timeline. You then crop both images to fit half the screen each, put the two images next to each other on the screen. Then edit the scale width of one of the images to -100, this will flip the clip into reverse giving the clip a mirror effect which we used for many of Kate’s background graffiti shots.

• Text

Most of the font used in the video is the same as the font used in out dig pack “Chalkduster”. To apply text over the top of any footage you need to create a new layer and insert a text bubble into the position you want it to appear on screen. We even edited the London London London section of our text even moves off screen, we did this by adjusting the motion of the titles to move off screen after they had been said in the song.

Used in the “drinks start pouring section of our music video which features three different pieces off footage synced and edited in the same way. First we synced all three clips in time with one another, then cropped each one to take up roughly 1/3rd of the screen and layered them into one clip. We then added text to roll on and off screen once they have been said.

Slowed down bits off the footage like the bridge scenes to fit in with the beat of the music. Also revered the footage of Kate spraying deodorant to gat a nice effect in time with the music.

Photoshop

We used Photoshop to edit/layer our poster and digipack to advertise our artist. We took shots off all the actors in the music video in front of a brick wall in their school uniforms to use as photos for the front three panels of the dig pack. We then took shots of graffiti backgrounds featured in our music video to use for the three back panels. The middle panel of our back cover took the longest time to edit as it had unwanted drawings over the top of it. We cropped this image to show just the sun and moon in the circle (circle showing where to put the CD). We then went into the paint sampling tool to sample the colour we wanted from a clean section of the image and painted over any marks making sure to blend the new colours in with the blending tool. Next we edited the brightness and contrast settings of all our images to help the red stand out more, similar to the effects used in our video. However the brick wall photos on the front of our album looked separate from the graffiti images on the back. So we cut and pasted the people from the images onto other graffiti backgrounds to help our dig pack feel more like one album.

Photoshop

Took a photo of Kate wearing a “oh snap” t-shirt and small shorts on a white background. We then cut around this image and put it on a graffiti background along with the same F.E.RG.I.E font we used on the front cover of the album.

You tube

• You tube helped us to plan and gives us ideas for our music video, we took ideas from many of Fergie’s videos and other artists like Brtitney spears. It is also a helpful website for use to share our video on and get feedback from others.

Prezi

• Prezi is an interactive power point website that’s lets you design you own presentations. I used prezi to answer question 2 and to show some of the planning stages that went into making our music video.

• Photos/iPhone

We took shots of possible filming locations using Kate’s iPhone and where able to upload these straight to our blogger/Gmail account.
