The Australian launch follows a press conference at Londons Abbey Road Studios in early October, 2012,where Axel Dauchez, CEO of Deezer, outlined the companys plans for investing new funding from AccessIndustries totaling US$130 million. The plans are designed to accelerate Deezers global expansion andtransform the way in which music fans across the world access and enjoy a catalogue of 20 million tracks.

To support its vision Deezer announced the launch of the service in 76 countries throughout Africa, theMiddle East and Asia bringing Deezers geographical reach to 160 countries worldwide - more than any otherdigital music provider. Deezer will continue to focus first on growing music markets, rather than the US,

Some of the countries already confirmed to take the stream include Austria, Belgium, France, Germany,Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Thailand and the United Kingdom with moreterritories being confirmed each day. tour, playing some of the biggest hip hop festivals in the world (Splash, Germany and Open-Air Festival, Switzerland) aswell as clubs shows in Germany, Denmark and England.

Urthboy is label manager of Elefant Traks, and has facilitated its growth from a handful of releases to beyond fifty aswell as a boutique touring company.

    Bertie Blackman www.facebook.com/bertieblackman:

Bertie dropped onto the bench and took a swig of, what? Could have been whiskey, could have been juice. Shed peeled

all the labels off a long time ago. Dusk. It was her favourite time: the orange eye of the sun, bored and falling fast, theempty streets, the smell of the dark winding round her legs. She curled her spine and pressed deeper into the woodenslats of the bench, like an attic ladder against her back. She settled in to watch.

This was the time for shadow chasers, when hurt was in the air and the bins overflowed with silent hopes and crumpleddreams. She flicked through the menu on her iPod. Headway, The Only One, from the soundtrack of Hey Hey Its EstherBlueburger, Black, Secrets and Lies and a cover of Peek-a-boo by Siouxsie and the Banshees. And this new one, PopeInnocent X.

Her thumb hovered over the button, one cracking eye to unleash the loneliness of everything. She hesitated. Tookanother swig and winced as she swallowed. Probably not juice. She pressed play and reached inside her coat for the bookshed stolen last time she went home, A Travel Guide for Foundlings with Nowhere To Go. On the title page, in redpencil, someone had scrawled 2009 ARIA Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year and 2009 ARIA Best IndependentRelease.

Bertie laughed as she tore out the page, flicked her lighter open and set the paper alight. She pulled out her bookmark -a dog-eared card embossed with Francois Tetaz Producer at Large and started drawing the mourning light of thelooming stars onto the pages. It was dark when shed finished. And cold. And she was thirsty. Out of the corner of hereye, she could feel the world come alive with the fiends of the night. She fixed them with her unblinking eye andwhispered I know where youre hiding and Im coming to get you.

    Bento www.facebook.com/wearebento

Bento is the new musical creation from Ben Gillies, drummer and co-founder of Silverchair and its debut album, DiamondDays, is 12 new bristling and glistening rock & roll songs, with Ben up front, singing his heart out, singing his own songs, and opening up like youve never heard him before.

Bento is as indie as they come. While Silverchair could tap into big recording budgets and high-level industryinfrastructure to support releases, Bento is entirely DIY an organic veggie patch to Silverchairs Apple. Ben has fundedthe entire project himself and has personally overseen every element, from artwork and videos through to the mechanicsof releasing the album on his own label. Its great to feel like Im really in the driver's seat on every detail withBento, he says. Thats just not possible when youre in a band. Its a totally different way of approaching things afteryears of adhering to a particular formula ... So that makes Bento both exciting and a bit scary.

Honest, uncluttered, open-hearted, Bento is Bens baby, but it sounds like a full band that has been playing togetherforever. Indeed, Ben freely credits his collaborators for helping provide Diamond Days with such a distinctive sheenacross its 12 tracks a unique cohesiveness and melodious energy.

Bens big challenge with Bento involved stepping out from behind the drum kit and becoming a frontman for the firsttime. And he makes no qualms about it it scared the crap out of him.

One thing thats obvious from a first listen ofDiamond Days, Ben is a lead vocalist of impressive dexterity, adapting hisstyle and approach to convey a myriad of emotions across the dozen songs.

Prepare yourself Bento sounds nothing like Silverchair. And if you happened to have heard Bens short-lived Tambalaneproject from a few years back, well, Bento sounds absolutely nothing like that either.
