Planning of Titles
By Will Smith
CreditsFor my credits I will be using a freeze frame for
each of my characters and then posterizing them. I have chosen to do this because I took
inspiration from the film Snatch. During snatch it introduces 11 characters which is to many in my opinion because it can make the audience feel overwhelmed with to many characters. That’s
why I’m trying to use a maximum of 5 characters. Most of the credits in snatch use a bold white
font, line above or below there names and with stars on one side or both sides. The stars could
imply there importance within the film so I might use this only for my protagonist and antagonist. The credits also have no background, they just
use block colours and then posterize the characters. Also the colours used are all very
similar in the way that they are all dark but quite natural colours since most of them are types of green. This is something that I would like to use
in my opening scene. I will also be taking inspiration from rock‘n’Rolla since it also using
posterization for its credits. To help me decide what type of font I will use I will do some experimenting with
them.

To try and help me choose which one of these I want to use I am going to try and make my credits to see which one is the most successful.
Final Credit
I will use the lines and the stars to represent
the characters importance within the film so it can help the audience to establish
who are the characters which the film will be
focussed on.
I chose to do my credits in white because snatch, Layercake and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking
Barrels all have there credits in white. It will stand out a lot more
because of the posterized background as well.
I’m using Capitol letters because it makes more of an
impact on the audience.
This is not a real credit, I only used the word gangster as an example of
what my final credit will look
like.
