JUST IMAGINE - JOSS LITTLER
By Joshua Jameson-Wallis, Elan Crocker and Suzanna
Littler
GENRE AND
CONVENTIONS• We feel the song we have chosen
is categorised under the Singer-
songwriter genre.
• The piece has been composed and
performed by the artist Joss Littler,
in which he provides the sole
accompaniment by playing the
guitar.
• There is an underlying message
which the artist expresses
throughout the song, which is the
hope of a world where essentially,
nothing bad occurs.
• Finally, there is definitely an
emphasis on the song itself and its
meaning rather than the
performance of it, which is an
aspect we aim to show through our
own music video.
STRANDS OF OUR MUSIC
VIDEO• Performance - At certain points in the video (guitar solo), the artist will be shown playing his
guitar, which will cut in and out of the narratives progression.
• Story - Our music video will begin with a narrative, which will continue to grow as the video
progresses. At times, this will be intercut with the artist performing, who is also the main
character in the plot.
• Dance - Regarding the scenes filmed at Primrose Hill and Camden Lock, we are
contemplating whether to choreograph some sort of slow dance arrangement, to accompany
the more cheerful choruses of the song.
• Animation - Considering the lyrics to our song contains a lot of powerful imagery, and the
tempo is very slow and lighthearted (reminiscent of Christmas), we could use animation to
intensify certain ideas, also increasing the bright/dark emotions felt during certain moments
within the music.
• Our targeted audience is between 13 - 25 because we feel that the iconic locations we are
shooting at will mostly appeal to these ages, but also because our artist is very young too,
now 15 years old. For these reasons, we believe that the music video will most likely have
the biggest impact upon this age range, furthermore leading to our artist gaining a following
which is centred around this age as well.
Location - We have chosen three main locations to film at, in order to accompany
the different sections of the song. The first is a dark room in Suzanna’s house, then
Primrose Hill and lastly Camden lock.
Casting - Despite the fact that our artist has matured in his age and voice, we think
he would still be the best choice for the lead role as he knows the lyrics already, and
can imagine what we are trying to create more easily, therefore providing a more
believable performance. As for the girl and other boy involved the camden scenes,
we plan to use members of Suzanna’s family who are the appropriate age, and
would suite the role well.
