Gazing adoringly at each other as they walked through the rain under the

glare of cameras, it was clear Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were on a mission last week, as they carried out their final duties as royals. Their beaming smiles were the talk of the evening, with many commenting on how happy the couple seemed. But, some were left wondering if there is sadness behind the smiles.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the UK last week for their final official engagements before bowing out of royal life, and seemed

to enjoy the opportunity to put on a show of unity for the nation. Demonstrating their loyalty to the Queen, the couple were seen leaving The Goring Hotel – Her Maj’s favourite restaurant – after a private lunch earlier in the day, before later attending the annual Endeavour Fund Awards, which honours injured and sick ex-service personnel.

After tense family talks over the past few weeks, it seems Harry is keen to repair bonds with his grandmother. It was reported last week that they met for a four-hour heart-to-heart, in which the Queen told him that, “He and Meghan are always able to come back if they

Many online commenters also picked up on the couple’s multiple PDAs, as they spent the evening gazing at each other, holding hands and giving each other reassuring pats on the back. Many called it “adorable” and “natural”, although a few others commented that it was “fake” and “out of control”.

But, while it seemed the couple were in their element, a royal insider tells us the

prospect of post-royal life in North America has Harry feeling a little lost. “He can’t help but notice that he is being left out of some of Meghan’s plans outside of their charity endeavours,” we’re told. “She’s deciding whether or not to attend huge events by herself – fashion functions like the MET Gala with the editor of British Vogue – and it’s making Harry feel a little left out.”

The source continues, “Harry had envisioned his time spent completely with

Meghan, as they try and build up a new version of their joint charity. But Meghan’s view is that now they have their freedom, they should both follow different paths as well as working together, to make sure they have room

to breathe within their marriage. It’s happening sooner than Harry thought and there has already been a lot of change in their lives, so naturally it feels a little daunting to him.” n

change their minds, and she will welcome them with open arms.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Harry, 35, demonstrated his loyalty to the crown, when referring to his time in the military. He said, “Being able to serve Queen and Country is something we all are rightly proud of, and it never leaves us. Once served, always serving.”

Meghan was also keen to prove her loyalty and love for her husband’s home country as she presented an award, telling the crowd, “It’s very nice to be back.” The 38 year old also scored a hat trick with her choice of dress. She wore a structured blue Victoria

ready as they were both so established in their careers as a successful Spice Girl and England footballer. As heat recently told you, aspiring photographer Brooklyn is keen to propose to Nicola, 24, and it’s clear she has been welcomed into the Beckham family. Last week, she joined Brooklyn, Victoria and David at the launch of David’s Inter Miami football club in Los Angeles, and Victoria was also pictured on a shopping trip with the loved-up couple. Days later, Nicola was at Brooklyn’s side as he celebrated his 21st with his family.

One topic Vic and David – who are also parents to Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and

Posh tells Brooklyn:‘Don’t make me Granny Spice’

Although Victoria Beckham is thrilled her eldest son Brooklyn has finally found true love and a woman he

wants to spend the rest of his life with, there is one thing she is terrified of – becoming a young grandma. Brooklyn celebrated his 21st birthday last week, replying to actress girlfriend Nicola Peltz’s gushing post to him with, “Can’t wait for our future together, forever my girl.” But while Posh, 45, is happy for them to get engaged and married, she doesn’t think they’re ready to have a baby.

“Victoria is thrilled that Brooklyn seems to have found genuine happiness and love with Nicola, but she’s also a little worried that they are moving too fast – and even talking babies,” our Beckham source says. “She has warned him not to even think about making her and David grandparents yet. She’s not joking, either – Brooklyn and Nicola are besotted with

eight-year-old Harper – are definitely united on is whether their son should have a baby just yet. “They want happiness and stability for Brooklyn, but they know how much hard work is involved in raising kids, and how strong the relationship has to be,” a source close to the couple tells us. “They worry Brooklyn is so swept away in the romance of it all, and the reality would hit him

like a tonne of bricks. They just want him to slow down. They are all for him getting engaged, and even married in the next year or two – but children require a maturity that he doesn’t have. But he

thinks it would be really cool to be a ‘young dad’. Vic is getting really close to Nicola, and hopes she can convince her that they should concentrate on their careers for longer and spend more time as a couple, as they’ve only been together six months.”

The insider adds, “Vic is trying the route of talking to Nicola about her career options and what’s in the pipeline for her over the next two or three years, and how now is the time to really build her profile and network. She’s hoping that tactic will work – but as always she isn’t very subtle, so she’s really pushing the topic.” n kate randall

each other, and love the idea of getting married and starting a family really fast. They see it as the ultimate commitment to each other, and both come from big families, so they want at least four children. It seems to be a trend for young celebs to have children early, and Victoria is worried that Brooklyn and Nicola will follow suit. And she’s not ready to be known as Granny Spice! She thinks she’s far too young for that.”

A fter months of ball changes and perfect pliés, The Greatest

Dancer came to an end last week. And while you might think Cheryl is feeling a little disheartened after fellow dance captain Oti Mabuse won for the second year in a row – not to mention the show’s plummeting ratings – she’s got another reason for smiling. Cheryl: ‘i’d marry him in a heartbeat’

Cheryl was delighted when US singer and dancer Todrick joined The Greatest Dancer for its second series. They hit it off during filming for the auditions last summer, and she joined him on stage at Manchester Pride in August for an epic performance of his anthem Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels. The pair have been inseparable during this

year’s live shows, and Todrick, 34, has spoken of their close friendship, revealing, “Cheryl and I are going to get married – we’re just trying to figure out which one of us is going to wear

the dress. I love her so much.” Meanwhile, it’s not just work

chat that keeps these besties busy. According to our source, they’re both supporting each other in their quests to find the perfect man. “Todrick’s the only one who Cheryl can really talk to about men and dating,” we’re told. “He’s also single, so they’ve been having

fun together, going on dating sites. He’s trying to encourage her to get back on the dating scene.” Hear that, would-be suitors? Todrick and Cheryl don’t play, they slay. n charlotte oliver

involvement in the BBC series, which is rumoured to be facing the axe, and there’s one big reason for that – her friendship with co-dance captain Todrick Hall.

“Life has definitely gotten a little more fun for Cheryl since Todrick joined the show,” says an insider close to the 36 year old, who got happily emotional last week as she watched her dance act Lily and Joseph perform for the final time. “Todrick brings out the best in her. They have a great laugh together, and he’s one of the few people who she feels isn’t constantly focused on her past. She’s been able to have really honest conversations with him, and he’s probably the only person that she can really talk to about her career. She doesn’t let her guard down to many people, but she trusts him completely. She’s been telling everyone that he’s her soulmate and that she’d marry him in a heartbeat!”

We’re not sure what the commissioning process is for a new Jo-Lum travel

documentary, but we hope it’s just Jo randomly pointing at a map like Patsy from Ab Fab and immediately getting the green light. Frankly, it doesn’t really matter where she goes, because the real pleasure is in watching the silky-voiced one discover the hidden gems of a country with breathy

excitement and charming the locals. Saying that, we’re pleased that her new two-part series, charting her 1,500-mile Caribbean adventure from Havana to Haiti, will be giving us a much-needed dose of vitamin D. This year’s Sport Relief – which alternates every other year with Comic

Relief – is a typically star-studded affair with special sketches, celeb challenges, panel shows and a new gaggle of presenters, including ex-Arsenal Women’s footballer Alex Scott, Oti Mabuse, Emma Willis, comedian Tom Allen, Maya Jama and Rylan Clark-Neal, joining Gary Lineker and Paddy McGuinness on hosting duties throughout the big night. Here’s our pick of the highlights…

THE HEaT is onIn the lead-up to Sport Relief night, this hour-long special tells how Nick Grimshaw, Frankie Bridge, Robert Rinder, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Karim Zeroual, Samantha Womack and Louise Minchin took on the challenge of traversing 100 miles of ice across a Mongolian frozen lake. Except the Coronavirus outbreak meant the celebrities were faced with a last-minute change of plan, and they ended up trying to cross the world’s oldest desert in Namibia by foot, bike and skis

in four days. It airs on BBC1, Wednesday 11 March, 9pm.

linE of DUTYActual Line Of Duty writer Jed Mercurio co-created this sketch, presented as an “exclusive ‘deleted’ scene from the series”, in which our anti-corruption heroes DS Arnott, DI Fleming and Superintendent Hastings are interrogating new character DC Taylor (Jason Isaacs), an accused corrupt copper who they suspect knows the identity of the real “H”. Unfortunately for DC

Taylor, he’s legally represented by crap lawyer David Rickman (Lee Mack). We cannot wait.

Killing sTEvEsYes, there’s a spoof of Killing Eve, too, in which a mysterious blonde assassin is killing victims with the first name “Steve”. So, expect to see snooker legend Steve Davis, Corrie’s Steve McDonald, Olympian Steve Redgrave and presenter and magician Stephen Mulhern all meeting their deaths, in a funny way. But who is killing them?

all-sTar nETball Two teams of celebrity players and sporting legends compete in the first-ever All-Star Netball for Sport Relief. Huge netball fan and comedy legend Jennifer Saunders captains one of the celebrity teams, while the other is led by Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse, who grew up playing the sport in South Africa.

clasH of THE cHannElsThe Celebrity Boat Race returns, but whereas last time

around, presenters from the BBC took on their counterparts from ITV, this year, there are also competing teams from Channel 4 and Sky. Under the training of Olympic champions James Cracknell OBE and Helen Glover MBE, all four teams battle it out on the waters of Salford Quays. Among the competitors are Louise Minchin, Steve Backshall, Maya Jama, Dr Ranj Singh, Andrea McLean, Jamie Laing, Chelsee Healey and Dermot Murnaghan. HHHH Boyd Hilton

I t’s all change for season three of the spectacularly ambitious Westworld. There’s a new emphasis on the wider world outside

the totally f**ked-up theme park, jumping around in the future of LA, London and beyond. Plus, there’s a new title sequence and a new character played by Aaron Paul, who’s a dodgy fellow to be sure. Granted, Jeffrey Wright’s Bernard is still wandering around looking dazed and confused, but the show itself feels fully rejuvenated, and even though the opener is still deliberately disorientating, it isn’t totally mystifying like the frustrating season two. HHHH Boyd Hilton

The RainNetflix, Friday 4 May

Here comes the second run of the action-packed series co-created by its stars Noel Clarke and Ashley Walters. Very much taking its cues from classic cop romps like Bad Boys and Lethal Weapon, Bulletproof sees the two lead actors having a blast as London-based National Crime Agency detectives Aaron Bishop (Clarke) and Ronnie Pike Jr (Walters), who are overseen by their boss

Sarah Tanner (Lindsey Coulson, aka Carol Jackson off ’Enders). This opening episode places the duo deep undercover as they attempt to infiltrate an international crime family and discover who a million pounds’ worth of drug money belongs to. Meanwhile, they’re being monitored by a new deputy director, who’s your classic by-the-book type. HHHH Jason Arnopp

3

2No, wait, stop, come back! Rest assured, this show has nothing at all to do with trigonometry, as in ye olde maths, angles and triangles. It does, however, involve a kind of love triangle, which is much more enticing. Looking to boost their income, London couple Gemma (The Musketeers’ Thalissa Teixeira) and Kieran (The Deuce’s Gary Carr) open their doors to new flatmate Ray (The Lobster’s Ariane Labed), who actually seems to make their lives easier. Cue sexual tension rising across these eight episodes, as the threesome’s relationship enters unusual territory, and causes their friends and family to predict disaster. HHHH Jason Arnopp

I t’s a big week for Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

His big new ITV period drama Belgravia starts on Sunday (see page 89), and then this – his big new Netflix period drama – arrives next Friday. He’s also got a big new HBO period drama, The Gilded Age, arriving soon, too. As for The English Game, this is a six-parter that tells the extraordinary story of the origins of English professional football, but in classic Downton-esque style with the main emphasis on the personal lives of the key players, and a backdrop of historically accurate class conflict. Kevin Guthrie and Ed Holcroft (London Spy) are ace as the real-life footballers who changed the game forever. HHHH Boyd Hilton
