Cosmopolitan is an extraordinary magazine to edit – unlike any other – due to the amazingly close relationship we have with our readers.

I’ve never known anything like it. They’re warm, feisty, fun and fashionable. Intensely loyal, they also love discovering new things. So my job as Editor is to maintain the quality of fashion, beauty and relationship advice at the same time as innovating new ways to present it and tell them (and show them) loads of stuff they don’t know. Whether it’s celebrities as they’ve never seen them before, transporting them into another person’s world with our real-life stories, emotional intelligence features highlighting something they’re going through before anybody else does, or the latest fashion

and beauty buys, they come to Cosmo because we’re totally inclusive and are plugged into their everyday life, as well as their hopes and aspirations.

In my mind’s eye, I edit for a woman aged between 18 and 35 – but I edit for a state of mind not just a tick box. Cosmopolitan.co.uk, Twitter, Facebook, Cosmo on Campus, Cosmo Body and the launch of Cosmopolitan Fashion are just part of the Cosmo universe. It’s no coincidence that Cosmo is the brand every newspaper, TV and radio station wants to talk to when they feature coverage of young women or matters of interest to women generally.

From breast implant scandals to red-carpet fashion, Cosmo is still the mouthpiece of a generation.
