How do I plan on using existing conventions inmy media product?-In my media product, I plan on using colours that are associated with rock/pop musicgenre. Since its rock/pop, Ill be looking at both dark and bright colours to contrast onthe screen. E.G. Girls in the video would most likely wear pink clothes, while the boys inthe video would most likely wear black, or other dark colours.-Ill also use clothing thatll suit the rock/pop music genre. By this, I mean the boyswould probably wear something like a leather jacket for the rocky bit of the video, ortypical casual attire to suit the pop side of it. The girls would probably wear skirts, rippedjeans etc-Make-up and other accessories that suit the genre. That could mean thick blackmake-up, or massive earrings. 3. -Also, props have a very good influence in music videos. Usually, the people inthe video feel a lot better when theyre given something to use in the video.That being said, due to the nature of the music genre, Ill most likely be usingprops such as:-A guitar-Beauty products-A mobile phone-Drums-CamerasThese types of props are usually seen in a music video that fits the rock/popgenre. Itll make the people in the video feel more comfortable, and itll fit thegenre quite nicely. 4. From my researchGiven from my research of the music videos Ive had to watch, they mostlyconsist of the same theme. The pop videos have the outfits that stand out tothe viewers eye, keeping them fixed on the outfit, and other props e.g.Drums, guitars etc In the videos, theyre mostly in a studio, where the bandplay their music, and do the filming, Id like to do the same for my video, Ilike to idea of doing the video in a school hall, with the tall ceiling and thewide space, big enough for all the people in the video. But for the close-ups,I can either have them in classroom/bedroom etc or in afield/playground etc I will be at a bit of a disadvantage when it comes tothe production of the video, since I dont have massive crowds for thevideo, or the big expensive cameras etc So for the video, Ill be focusingon how the video matches the conventions set out by the genre. 5. I dont plan on challenging the existing conventions for pop toomuch. Instead of the people wearing costumes that stand out to theviewer. Instead, Id like to make the people in the video look normal,and that theyre not part of an extravagant band etc The people inthe video would most likely wear casual attire since the song isntscream, or blues etc So they dont have to dress fancy. 6.
