Title

Front coverOn my front cover I decided to go for a front cover across the top of the magazine so it stands out and brings the viewers attention straight to it. Also I decided to have one big picture as the main attention and have smaller subheading around the outside to show exclusive peaks of what will be inside the magazine. Also on the front cover of my magazine there is a barcode to scan for the price which is also on the front of my cover so people will know the price they have to pay for the magazine. Also on the front of the magazine there is an issue number so people no what issue it is that they have purchased. Also the colours I have used with the magazine go with the sort of music that I have used.

Contents Page On my content page it has the page numbers that the information in the magazine is on and it also has the same colour theme that is on the front cover of the magazine also there is one picture of one of the band members to show that this magazine is mainly about this new band that is on the scence.

Double Page SpreadOn the double page spread there is another picture of the band and there is information on which they are and there hobbies. I got this idea from other magazines I did research on; I got this from magazines such as vibe and other RnB type magazines. Also on my double page spread there is a picture of one of my football trophy’s I took a picture of this so I can use it as like an award for my music award ceremony. Also on here I decided to add some other news about artist’s who are currently out there in the charts and used an award that they where after as part of my double page spread.

Challenge

The challenge that I was set for this magazine

was to make a magazine that would be

competitive with a real life media magazine

product.

The way I set about doing was

trying to get the best idea’s from all

the top magazine and putting them

into my magazine.

The real challenge was

being able to

compete with

these magazine

because these

magazine are

real money

making magazine and

are highly famous across

the united kingdom.

Where did I get my idea from?

I got my idea from the research that I did. I did a questionnaire to gather information about what magazine would be most attractive for my magazine I am going to produce. And what I came up with from my magazine is to design a grime magazine based of grime and funky house music .Also in the magazine I tried to fit a theme for all. By trying to keep all of the colours under one theme.

3, What do you usually look for in a magazine?

Here are some of the question’s I asked to get data to help me design my magazine this influenced me into making sure I could make them happy by inserting there idea’s into the magazine.

I asked people what they look most for in a magazine and they said they mainly look out for pictures so I tried to take and add as many pictures as I could on the front cover to try and influence people to purchase my magazine.

I asked people of a reasonable price to pay for the magazine and there was a tie between £1-£1.50 so what I decided to do was to come in the middle of the both of them and price this at £1.89 so then it meet the need of all students because this is the average price they are willing to pay for the magazine.

I also decided to ask the if they would listen to this type of music and 60% of the people I asked said yes they would listen to it.

•The way I developed my media product was to use effects of real

magazines and to try to take some of the better method’s and try to

improve in my eyes there weaker products.

•I thought a variety of products I used was to get the price of the magazine

right, Also I tried to get in there mini headlines because these are very

effective because they tell you in fairly bold writing what is going on inside.

Social groups

The social groups that my magazine is aimed at is males

aged 16-18 years of age and the social group it is aimed

at is people who dress a lot in Nike adidas and other

clothes like Lyle and Scott etc.

The reason that I aimed my magazine at this type

of audience is simply because in my questionnaire

I asked a group of people what they preferred and

this was what came out on top.

What media institution would distribute your product and why?

My media magazine is more mainstream as it’s following the idea of many other RnB type magazines. The kind of media institution to distribute it would most likely be vibe . I think this because of the audience the product is aimed at, which is a broad one. It wouldn’t be appreciated as much by audiences who enjoy a lot bass line and Rap music as I think it’s a lot about the way they are dressed which is conveying a message I think these kind of institution would be more drawn to my magazine because of its viewing durability and the open audience its aimed at.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

I learned a lot about time keeping and how strict you have to be on yourself if you want to succeed in making a successful magazine also about the different programs involved which I believed helped a lot in the production of our main item. Also whilst editing my preliminary task I got a bundle of ideas on how I would edit the next task in order to get the desired effect. I also now have a good knowledge on how to use the editing software an have very little problems finding what I need when editing. Because. You also have to learn to listen in order to progress keeping in mind everyone else’s ideas and suggestions whilst creating and editing my magazine in order that it is satisfactory for my target audience.

General Comments

Overall I am pleased with my outcome of my magazine

and the choice of programmes that I used. I think this task

was really interesting and I believe that there was a right

amount of time in order for this assignment to be

completed on time, I have enjoyed doing this magazine

and evaluation and I am pleased with my overall result of

this.

The problem’s I had with my magazine is keeping to my Gantt

chart which I did not feel I set my self realistic targets to get my

magazine on time also if I could do this again I would change my

picture to get them sharper and more focused other problem’s

was switching programs I was switching programs because some

programs where better for thing than others for e.g. Photoshop

was better for editing pictures for my magazine while fireworks

was better for the layout of my magazine.
