There are different types of codes and conventions in the horror genre

Producers will tend to establish to the audience early on that their product is a horror

The first thing we did as a group was to conduct research on real life products too see what the codes and conventions are for a horror.

We looked at trailers such as ‘The Wilderness’ , ‘The Hills Have Eyes’ and ‘The Omen’

We looked at posters Like Paranormal Activity , Saw and The Omen

We looked at Magazines like Empire and other horror magazines from the internet

Claude-Levi-Strauss theory applies to this with the fact that we have good vs evil.

Older teenagers predominately maleFemales may have an oppositional

reading to this because there are no females in the trailer and they might find it a bit sexist

As you can see all three products work well together because the main protagonist in the movie (Warren) is on all three products.

We follow the same codes and conventions in each one as the target audience will identify that it is a horror movie straight away.

We use the same colours and they all look very authentic

The main task for me was to create a script for the trailer and to get the music sorted

I had to also get the people that we needed in our trailer and made sure that what were wearing made it look authentic.

We were acting as business men and in order to make it look authentic we wore suits and used the car as a prop.

The main change that was conducted in the trailer was the scene in which we used a torch in broad daylight. This was due to our audience feedback

We added more images to our poster because at first we didn’t feel like it had enough to get to the audience that it is a horror movie.

In our magazine we removed a lot of the text because it took up to much space and looked dull.

we used a variety of software's to come up with or products. For our poster and magazine we used InDesign and Photoshop

and for our trailer we used Sony Vegas pro At first we thought we would play around in Photoshop to see

what works well together and to get a feel of the software. When we were confident that we new how to do everything we

started making the products and we had a lot of drafts for our products.

We took on board the audience feedback and make the necessary changes to come up with our final products.

we used brilliant camera software to take our images and record our trailer which was vey helpful as it made our trailer look very authentic and professional

We conducted a preliminary task which helped us grasp an idea and basically add and improve our idea. We took still photos and created a story board to help us generate and go along with the same idea.

This was a very important factor as we had to continuously update our Blogs. This enabled us to get feedback on our products and to know what we need to do.

Looking back on my products I can see that their were a few things we could have improved on.
