• This album by the B52’s has a very simple cover. It states the name of the band and the album name. the covers background is just a rainbow colour I think this is to convey the free living free loving attitude that the album name presents us with.

• The first thing that our eyes are drawn to are the large words “Love Shack” the band are trying to draw our attention to this slightly odd and shocking phrase. At first we see it as seedy but the positive colour of the rainbow makes us thing otherwise.

• In this picture there is a wall plastered with posters of little Jackie. There is some graffiti on the wall and some of it is on one of her posters. There is a boom box in front which reminds me of teenage life in the early nineties.

• The fact that the cover is not glitzy and glamorous tells us that this artist wants her fans to know she is just a normal person like them. The boom box, posters and use of graffiti may also suggest that this artist’s music is inspired by R&B (Rhythm and Blues) rap or hip hop.

• This cover for “panic at the disco’s” album is at a glance quite bizarre. Five people are sat around a table in Victorian dress. The odd vibe from the cover suggests that the music this band plays is alternative and different from other music.

• The albums name “a fever you cant sweat out” suggest that this bands songs are infectious and it gets under your skin. It also hints at the idea of the sweaty club scene which is where this bands type of music may be played.

• This album cover for “paramore” is very simple. The word “riot” is plastered all over the cover but one of the copies is red. This symbolises the bands need to rebel and be different this will also tell us of the type of music they play.

• The fact that the word all over the cover is “riot” shows the bands need for disorder and chaos there is also a exclamation mark at the end of the word that is there to enforce the points the word makes.

• “Little boots” album cover gives me a 60’s psychedelic vibe in that her picture is in the shape of triangles and the use of colour and light reminds me of the drug addled story of “Alice in wonderland”.

• The music she makes is techno/dance this is conveyed through the very digital colour and light which is not natural and her out fit she is wearing is shiny like a futuristic jumpsuit which brings us back to the techno theme.

• The cover of “Katy Perry’s” “I kissed a girl” is very simple Katy is seen wearing a short pink dress all dolled up like a Barbie doll. Even though she is all pink and Barbie doll sparkly the shortness of her dress is a very provocative point.

• There is also the tagline on the cover in big pink letters “I kissed a girl” this is a very shocking head line. Katy is using her sexuality to flaunt in peoples faces and grab our attention. This music is probably pop rock. The pop essence is seen in Katy’s Barbie doll image but the tagline is provocative and rebellious and that shows us the rock element of her music.
