MEDIA ASSOCIATE PROGRAM

Updated 2015

WHAT IS THE MEDIA ASSOCIATE PROGRAM?

Access Intelligence’s Media Associate program offers recent graduates the opportunity to gain experience in several essential business functions,

including Sales, Marketing, Editorial, Digital Analytics, and Event Management, over the course of one year. You’ll be challenged daily with meaningful work under the guidance of our talented Managers, Directors, and VPs, and will be responsible for meeting deadlines, producing results,

and contributing to the innovative content that sets Access Intelligence apart from our competitors.

The Associate program is located in our Rockville, Maryland headquarters, with rotations available in Norwalk, Connecticut.

WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER A ROTATION PROGRAM?

Updated 2015

The goal of our program is to provide you with a well-rounded understanding of business functions and help you make a more informed

decision about your career path. You’ll have the opportunity to try out several roles, as well as several industries, and discover your own strengths and weaknesses. Rotations change each year based on business needs and

the interests of our Associates, but always provide interesting, valuable learning experiences.

I wanted an opportunity to explore my options while also gaining valuable experience. AI exposed me to career paths I never would’ve known I was interested in had I not had this opportunity.” REBECCA LINCKS, 2012-2013 ASSOCIATE; CURRENT E-MEDIA MARKETING MGR

The goal of our program is to provide you with a well-rounded understanding of business functions and help you make a more informed decision about your

career path. You’ll have the opportunity to try out several roles, as well as several industries, and discover your own strengths and weaknesses. Rotations change

each year based on business needs and the interests of our Associates, but always provide interesting, valuable learning experiences.

Past rotations have included positions such as:

Event marketing for tradeshows and conferences

Print and digital content creation with our editorial teams Sales for print and digital content, exhibit space, and sponsorships

Digital analysis of social media and web traffic data

WHAT KIND OF ROTATIONS WILL I HAVE?

Updated 2015

Yes! As an Associate, you’ll work the same schedule, in the same positions, and be held to the same standards as all of our full-time employees. You are

paid a competitive salary and will be eligible for our generous health and time off benefits.

In addition, you’ll get all of the perks the rest of our employees share,

including our casual dress code, early closing at 3:00 on Fridays year-round, and a variety of flexible scheduling options to our eligible employees.

AM I A FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE?

Updated 2015

Throughout the program you’ll be challenged to work in areas you might not have otherwise considered, and in doing so, you’ll strengthen not only your

business knowledge, but your leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills. As the program nears completion, you’ll sit down with our team to discuss your interests and strengths with the goal of finding you a

full-time role at Access Intelligence.

We’ve hired 91% of our past Associates into exceptional roles upon completion of their rotations. After just one year, Associates are hired into

roles that generally require 3+ years of experience, such as Marketing Manager, Analytics Coordinator, Sales Representative, and Assistant

Managing Editor.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE PROGRAM ENDS?

Updated 2015

DO I HAVE THE RIGHT BACKGROUND FOR THIS PROGRAM?

I found my experience from my previous internships and my Public Communication degree to be invaluable in my rotations. Whether I was working online with a content management system to create and edit copy, or reviewing social media outreach to craft ‘best practices’ reports, knowing my way around digital spaces was key.” STACY HILL, 2012-2013 ASSOCIATE; CURRENT DIGITAL ANALYTICS COORDINATOR

In addition to undergraduate work in Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related function, we’re looking for candidates who have

been active throughout their college career. We want to see work experience, involvement in school activities, an exceptional grasp of written and verbal communication, and a history of demonstrated success. Above all, we’re seeking individuals who are curious and

dedicated to advancing their career within the media industry.
