Social issue : sex trafficking. In this video you can see lady gaga being forced to do things that

she doesn’t want to which relates to those who are in sexual trafficking. The room is white this connotes a sense of hope and makes the audience feel sympathy towards her. The white room could also symbolise her innocence.

Her eyes are really big this shows the audience that she has been injected with drugs. As this is such a serious issue that not many people are aware of it’s also educating the audience at the same time.

The title bad romance could suggest that the protagonist that she is playing is caught up in a situation that they have no control over it also makes the audience sympathize with her, and realise the reality and seriousness of this social/ political issue.

Due to being under the influence of drugs she sells herself to the men who want to purchase her, this also supports the theory of objectification as she is represented ad being an object in the shot. Again she is wearing white this connotes her purity and shows her innocence this reinforces to the audience that thousands of girls have to go through this and their innocent.

The resolution for the audience is when it is revealed that she has killed her “owner”. Although it is not the morally correct resolution the audience are happy for her because she has escaped.
