TRANSPORTATION
The city's public transportation system includes buses, taxis, and an urban train “the Metro of Medellín”. The Metro connects the cities of
Medellin, Itagüí, Envigado and Bello.
Medellin is the only city in Colombia with two airports. One of them, The José María Córdoba International Airport that is located
in Rionegro, the other one is the Olaya Herrera airport.

Medellin has a great variety of food and restaurants. The main meal is the bandeja paisa; it is also very traditional the arepa which is made
with corn.
Medellin has a variety of restaurants mainly in Poblado, Palmas Avenue, and Nutibara Avenue. You could find typical, international
and specialized food.

completed full of handicraft shops. Botero plaza: it is has a lot of art works by Fernando Botero, the
internationally known sculptor from Medellin who specializes in oversized human figures. More of his works are in the Museum

EVENTS AND FESTIVALS
The three biggest events in Medellin each year are:
The Annual Flower Festival: A 53 year old tradition in Medellin that lasts for 10 days. Vintage cars parade, horses’ parade, art expositions, crafts, concerts, botanical and orchid expositions and more. The whole city is in party mode for the entire time
The Annual Christmas Lighting: Medellin River, La Playa Avenue, Nutibara Hill and other parts of the city put together one of the most spectacular light presentations in the world. Every year the theme changes. There are reviewing stands all along the river where the largest expositions are opened to the
public.
