Faculty Achievements-
Mrs. M Lakshmi Chaitanya has attained her Doctorate degree in the
stream of Manufacturing with the thesis entitled “Novel multi objective
optimization of Laser Beam Manufacturing Processes” in the month of
February’2014.
Dr. S Sambhu Prasad, Principal & Professor of Dept. of Mechanical En-
gineering is inducted as Member into the CII-AP Panel on Manufacturing
Competitiveness for 2014-15.
Workshops Organized-
A two day workshop on Automobiles is organized by the Department of
Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with J V Vorkshop during 7th and 8th of
Feb’2014. A total of 188 students from various branches from all the years of
B.Tech have participated in the workshop. The workshop is emphasized in creat-
ing practical awareness of Automobile parts and engines.
Faculty Training Program-
A 2 Day training Programme on CNC CODE DEVELOPMENT has Con-
ducted by Mr. V S N Ch Dattu, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Mechanical En-
gineering in association with MTAB, Chennai during 29th & 30th June

Workshops attended by faculty members-
Ms. G.Lavanya Lakshmi has participated in one day National work-
shop on “Computational Fluid Dynamics” held on 24th February
2014, organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, KITS,
DIVILI.
Mr. D.J.Johnson has attended a two day National workshop on
“Applications of nano materials for sustainability” for the benefit of
faculty members, Researchers in Industries/Academics during 22nd and
23rd March 2014 organized by GMRIT, RAJAM.
The following members attended a two day national workshop on
“Recent Advances in Composite Materials” held on 14th and 15th
march 2014 organized by University College of Engineering JNTUK,
Kakinada.

College, Surampalem and Global minds consultancy, Hyderabad.
Ms. S.Swetha Radha and Ms. M.V.Lakshmi have attended a Two day
national workshop on “Advanced Materials and Processes” during 4th
& 5th April 2014 organized by University College of Engineering, Ka-
kinada under TEQIP-II.
Dr. S.Sambhu Prasad & Mr. G.V.N Santhosh has attended a Three
Day National Workshop on “Advances and Applications of CFD”
during 10th – 12th April 2014 organized by University College of Engi-
neering, Kakinada, Under TEQIP-II.

A National Level Technical Symposium “STRIDES – ERUDITE
2K14” was organized by Mechanical Engineering Department on 11-04-
2014. The Programme was inaugurated by the chief guest
Dr.B.PrabhakarRao, RECTOR, JNTUK.
Nearly 200 students from 45 colleges across the country have par-
ticipated in various events.
Poster presentation was also organized for 18 posters out of 30 post-
ers received. Out of which some of the best posters are selected in final
round. Dr. M.Lakshmi Chaitanya was the judge for final selections.
