measuring height in children and adults. fixing wall mounted height measuring tape when wall has...
TRANSCRIPT
Place the instrument on the skirting floor and measure the height of the skirting in mm by taking the horizontal limb down to the floor
Height of the skirting in the wall is 10cms
Measure 190 cm from the top of the skirting Fix the vertical limb of the equipment to the wall either with a double sided tape or with a nail through the hole provided in the vertical limb of the equipment
Draw down the tape vertically and ensure that the horizontal limb rests evenly on the floor.
Draw a line on either side of the tape, so that it is possible to check whether the tape is being drawn down without any obliquity while measurements are made
Two lines were drawn on either side of the tape when it was held at 90 degree vertical plane; these are indicated by two arrows
These lines indicate that the tape is now being drawn obliquely and this has to be corrected before the height of the child is measured
Two lines were drawn on either side of the tape when it was held at 90 degree vertical plane indicate that the tape is now being drawn obliquely. This has to be corrected before the height of the person is measured
Obliquity has been corrected and lines indicate that the tape is now being drawn vertically. Height of the person can now be measured
Height is being measured in a child
Child is standing straight
Heals, knee, buttocks , back , shoulders and back of the head are touching the wall
Head is held in Frankfurt plane with the horizontal limb of the instrument resting on the top of the child’s head
Child looking straight ahead, head in the Frankfurt plane and the horizontal limb of the wall mounted tape resting on the head
His height is 94 cms
Height measurement in adults
This woman is standing straight with heels, knees,(not in the picture), buttocks, shoulders and back of the head touching the wall
She is looking straight ahead with head held in Franfurt plane
The horizontal limb of the tape is resting on the top of her head
She is looking straight ahead, head in the Frankfurt plane and the horizontal limb of the wall mounted tape resting on the head
