MACS Historical and Global Studies / M.Div. Core. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Students will be able to articulate a biblical basis for missions Students will become familiar with broad outline of the history of the missionary outreach of the church Develop an understanding of the present state of the worldwide church Gain practical insights on the role of the pastor and the local church in world mission Be able to find resources for missions on the web Students will understand the process of an individual becoming and then serving as a missionary (missionary life and service) Become acquainted with some of the key issues in missions today. Be challenged and equipped to become personally involved with the Gospel to your own Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth. Begin a lifelong personal commitment to worldwide missions through learning about missions, praying, going, sending, welcoming, and mobilizing. COURSE TEXTS Moreau, A. Scott, Gary R.
