Project Definition

NASA Requests a quote: To design a heating and ventilation system for an

arctic research facility located at the North Pole. Contains four researchers Inside temperature to be maintained at 25 °C Outside temperature is a constant -40 °C No cooling system needed for obvious reasons

Ducts formed from rubber coated sheet metal: Sheet Size: 70” x 90” Relative roughness: 2mm

Outside Walls 12” thick Inside Walls 8” Register location is fixed

Register Size: 6” x 16” Occupants Require 8 liters of fresh air per

minute
