THE DOCTOR SAYS: Some people think that getting diabetes means blindness, kidney dialysis and amputations are inevitable. The truth is, there is a lot you can do to take control of your diabetes and live healthy. Even if you have to take insulin (the needle), you never need to go on dialysis, go blind or have an amputation. In 2007, these complications should be a matter of the past. The sooner you know if you have diabetes, the sooner you can start taking control. So, don’t be afraid to get tested.

Meet the MDSI Team: Traveling Team: Kristy Lee, Jane Jensen, Michelle

You can also look at the Guide on the internet here: www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/pubs/index_e.html
