Meet The Seniors: Tubaa Nadim
Interviewer: How do you feel about your last year of high school? Tubaa: So far from what I’ve experienced from my senior year, is that my last year is really an eye-opener. You really start to notice that a lot of things are coming to an end for you and that so much is changing around you and you really have no control over how much time you have left… Interviewer: Which college are you planning to go to? Tubaa: I haven't decided yet, but I am mostly interested in attending Stony Brook. Interviewer: What are your future career plans? Tubaa: For my future career I’ve chosen to go into journalism/writing. Interviewer: Why are you planning to do journalism and writing? Tubaa: I’m planning to do journalism/writing for two reasons: first is that I believe there should be no cultural barrier on what your career interests are, because every individual is unique and has their own talents. Second of all I’m an introverted person who doesn’t talk a lot, and I believe that through writing I am able to express that my voice and I want to be a representation to those who suffer from the same problem. The fact that you have a voice even though it may not be vocally active. Interviewer: What are AP classes and are you taking them? Tubaa: AP means advanced placement, which are college level classes. Yes, I’m taking AP classes such as AP Gov, AP Economics, AP Bio, AP Calculus, and AP English. By: Hafsah Nadim/7th Grade

The New Prayer Rugs By: Farha Ferdous/Grade 7
___________________________________________________ Alhamdulillah, our school has recently been gifted with new, clean prayer rugs to pray on! This is a great blessing for the students of MDQ Academy, because we were praying on the same school rugs for the last 5-6 years (and they weren’t exactly in the best condition!). Now it’s our responsibility to keep these new rugs clean and tidy! We thank Allah and the donors of the rugs for their appreciation of our school. Let’s make lots of Du’a for the parents who were very generous and kind-hearted to let us have this new gift by the will of Allah!
