Minutes of the Manchester & District CTC Committee Date: Thursday 9 th September 2010 7.30pm Venue: The Welcome Inn, Bury Old Road, Prestwich Present: Phil Rigby (chairman), Peter Barnes, Laurie Green, Glynn Jones, Trevor McCarthy, Mike Roberts, Ian Ross, Mavis Ross, Graham Trunks, Mike Wigley 1) Apologies for absence: Terry Hodges 2) Matters Arising from the previous meeting: The minutes of the meeting dated 8 th July 2010 had been distributed prior to the meeting and were accepted as a true record. 3) Reports from Officials a) Secretary: Nothing to report, except to say that the Beard Cup results are now on the website b) Treasurer: no report c) Magazine Editor: There is £714.57 in the bank plus £4.67 cash in hand, with all bills paid. More income anticipated from sales of latest (last?) edition. Graham was presented with a copy of a 1935 copy of Northern Wheel d) Magazine Distributor: no report e) Membership Registration Officer: Mike reported that we have 1687 CTC members living in “our” area which is an increase of 90 since our previous meeting. There are 855 of these with email addresses, and I will contact them directly to invite them to our AGM. f) Rights and Campaigns report: No report g) Welfare Officer: No report 4) Reports from Groups a) Peak Audax Events Secretary: We had a good turnout for our series of summer rides from Marple. We have a full calendar of events in place for Autumn and through the winter. Derek Heine (one of our organisers) is recovering from an incident where he was pushed off his bike while on the Cambrian 600. b) Bury: John Butterworth is recovering from his heart bypass operation. The 50km Charlie Westlake ride is to be renamed in memory of Walter Pilkington, leaving the 100km in memory of Charlie Westlake. c) Oldham & Tameside: nothing to report d) West Manchester: nothing to report 5) Future Events Beard Cup, 4 th September 2011 Peak Audax events from Cheadle, as detailed in Cycle and at www.ManchesterCTC.co.uk Charlie Westlake & Walter Pilkington Rides on 6 th March 2011 6) Any Other Business: none 7) Next Committee Meeting The AGM will be held 16 th October at the usual venue Friends Meeting House.
