Out of damaged areas, three areas were identified as a “through-wall” defect. The CTN tyres have reached the end of their serviceable life. The chain needed refurbishment. SOLUTION All of the identified areas on the fender body are suitable for repair with Belzona 2111 . PROCEDURE Application took place in 4 stages: 1) After inflation of the fender, a “soapy water test” was carried out to indentify defects on the fender body. 2) Surface was prepared in accordance with application requirement of the Belzona 2111. 3) Fully reinforced application of Belzona 2111 D&A Hi-Build Elastomer was carried out. 4) Fender was inflated to operational pressure and ”soapy water test” was carried over all repairs. The inflation was held overnight and pressure measurement taken again to confirm the pressure retention. 5)Chains were grit blasted and Corroline steel protection system was applied.
