Being ‘Pretty’ Morgan McMahon

The camera will start by showing a girl inside her house alone while her brother has friends over outside. After showing the guys flirting with girls the camera focuses on the teenage girl calling her friends and them saying that they are with their boyfriends. It ends with the staring out the window at all the boys. I will have slow, mellow music in the background. The camera will be showing a shot of what the girl is seeing through her eyes.

No One to Hang out With

Eating Comfort Food The girl will go into the kitchen and

go to get a cookie because she is upset. The music will stay the same, mellow tone. The camera will be on her as she grabsthe cookie out of the cookie jar. She will then see a magazine that says “100 Most Beautiful” and think about how she is skinny and pretty. She will look down at herself, now the camera being her eyes, and with Final Cut Pro, the image of her self will be distorted and look bigger. She will then throw the cookie away and take the magazine, ending the scene of her walking back into her room.

She will be at her desk and look at workout plans and diets to get skinny. She foreshadows to an image of her being pretty and skinny. She then looks outside at the boys and indicates that she want to be skinny to impress them. She think that being skinny would get more guys attention, so she changes into her workout clothes and heads out the door. The scene will end with the camera focusing on the ‘lose weight’ ad.

Dieting She will be running and the camera will

be her eyes and what she is seeing. She will run all around and the scene will be speed up with iMovie. The running shot will then be repeated, like it is another day and will transition it to the girl walking in the door and the camera on her. She will go into her room and step on the scale to check her weight. She will sigh, showing that I am not happy with it. She will then go to head back out the door.

Guy Showing Attention As she is heading out of her room she runs into

her friend at the door.

Guy: “Hey, I haven’t seen you in a while”

Girl: “I know, how have you been?”

Guy: “Good! Want to go get some food?”

Girl: “I actually just ate and was about to go for a run”

Guy: “But it looks like you just ran?...”

Girl: “I know, but…..” (interrupted by guy)

Guy: “You know I think you are beautiful and perfect just the way you are? I don’t get why you are being so hard on yourself and aren’t seeing what is right in front of you” (looking down at his feet)

Girl: “I guess I never really realized…”

The scene will end with him hugging the girl.

Being Happy with Self

The last shot will be the girl out to dinner with the guy and their two friends. She will look a lot happier with more color on her face and you will be able to hear laughing and happy music in the background. She will look over at her guy friend and smile as he leans in and gives her a kiss. The story will end with them happily together at the table.
