mcm scholarships

Last year, our biking teams raised enough to fund 14 scholarships and the after- school tutoring that is necessary to ensure their success. We are looking forward to our next three graduates completing school in 2012/2013, Pedro, Francisco, and Rosa Amalia. Not to mention continuing the education of all our current scholarship kids and hopefully taking on a few more new children. But, WE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOUR HELP, so we’re asking if you would prayerfully consider Meet Mynor, MCM’s first Graduate! In October 2011, MCM celebrated the graduation of the first of our scholarship recipients to graduate from High School. This is an incredible accomplishment in the village of Yalú, where many children do not even finish publicly-funded education that ends at grade 6. For the few children that make it to the end of elementary school and have the resources to pursue further education, they often find it difficult to keep up with the higher standards in the private schools due to the poor quality of rural village education endemic in Guatemala. Despite all the hurdles, Mynor pushed through and his hard-earned accomplishment is an inspiration to the village. He now has a great job at the farm in Yalú that would not have been possible without his education, all of which was made possible through God’s incredible provision, and the dedication and effort of our Ride for Refuge bikers! 1 Accounting for the farm Celebrating with Mom Mom, Dad, & brother

Last year, our biking teams raised enough to fund 14 scholarships and the after-school tutoring that is necessary to ensure their success. We are looking forward to our next three graduates completing school in 2012/2013, Pedro, Francisco, and Rosa Amalia. Not to mention continuing the education of all our current scholarship kids and hopefully taking on a few more new children. But, WE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOUR HELP, so we’re asking if you would prayerfully consider supporting us as we ride for our brothers and sisters in Guatemala!

Meet Mynor, MCM’s first Graduate!
