Technology
How does educational technology enlarge, focus and constrain our understanding of the world? How do new media reshape knowledge, alter how it is represented, presented, and comprehended?
Media
•How do media reshape knowledge, and alter how knowledge is represented, presented, and comprehended?
Pedagogy
•What will this do to teaching and learning in the 21st century?
Societal Change•Modern technology is changing how and
where we work, what work we do, how we communicate with others, how we play, and, at a deeper level, how we think, how we see ourselves, and what we value. It is also changing how, where and when we learn, as well as why and what we need to learn.
• N. Henchley, Communication technology and the transformation of learning. In R. Ghosh & D. Ray (Eds) Social change and education in Canada. Toronto: Harcourt Brace. 1987, p 37
Every technology...

•OBSOLESCES an established way of doing things.
•RETRIEVES a long-lost method or experience.
•REVERSES into its opposite. (deconstructs?)
Tech Effects

However, there is also a risk in taking away ICT courses. By considering ICT as a
transversal subject, nobody feels responsible for it, and this was found to
have a negative impact on teacher students‘ use of ICT in their teaching
(Karsenti, 2005b; Karsenti, Raby, & Villeneuve, 2008).
