FAMOUS WORDS

Interesting Facts

You Never Knew

“Do one thing every day that

scares you.”

Eleanor Roosevelt

Did you know . . . Pepsi was originally called “Brad’s Drink.

Did you know . . . Starbucks offers 87,000 different drink

combinations.

Did you know . . . M&Ms were created as a means for soldiers to enjoy chocolate without it melting.

This isn't about me. It's about you. It's about helping you to overcome every-thing that has ever stood in your way, everything that ever will stand in your way. It's about being able to have all your dreams. Take a journey with me and I'll show you how it can be possible. I was 19 years old and laying in the hospital. It had been one heck of a month. 19, pregnant, no partner, in the hospital, what else could the world possibly throw at me? Ever felt that way? Maybe not the 19 part. Maybe not the hospital part. But chances are at some point in your life you found yourself asking the same questions. What else do I have to do to get ahead? I try to do the right stuff, but it never seems to be enough. Yeah, I've been there too. Thinking the world was crashing down over my head. Yet life goes on. Not much of a comfort is it? We've all had those times of impossible pres-sure when we have no idea how we'll make it out. And it scares us. It shakes us to the core. But it also tells us who we are, and what we're made of. Maybe it's not about the moment at all. Maybe it's about the struggle and learning how to overcome. We've all heard that achieving our dreams takes hard work. So maybe, instead of all that hard stuff we've been through being a curse, it was a blessing. Laying in the hospital that night, I dis-covered that I was going to need sur

gery to remove a tumor from my ova-ry. That day, my life changed forever. Now, I was 19 and sterile. The only pregnancy I would ever carry was in-side of me, and there was no guaran-tee she would survive. Suddenly it wasn't about my fiancé, family, job, or money. It was about survival. And that changes everything. Have you ever noticed that when you go into survival mode things seem so much clearer? Stressed - yes, but sim-pler. What about you? Where are you go-ing? Have you ever really stopped to think about what you want? Or are you just walking a road that started many years ago? What is it that you really want? The problem isn't really that we don't know what we want. It's that we don't like to think about it. Deep down, we believe that there's no way to accomplish it. So we put it into safer terms for ourselves - peace, security - those sound nice. Not selfish, people won't judge us harshly for wanting those. Or prosperity - a nice house, a cool car - those are nor-mal goals. People will accept us for those goals. Do you see the pattern here? We limit our thinking about our dreams to what people will accept or expect of us. Time to break out of that mold.
