What MCB is?

A circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overload or short circuit. Its basic function is to detect a fault condition and interrupt current flow.

What are MCB used for?

Safe home electrical instalation from overloaded circuit, short circuit and ground fault.

The miniature circuit breaker can prevent possible problems caused by electrical devices such as lights ang heater.

What cause MCB to trip?

When does MCB need to be replaced?

worn out, broken, or malfunction

hot to the touch, are putting off a burning smell, or are showing signs of damage such as black or burned material or frayed wires

it begins to trip often or won’t stay reset

You need provision for more circuits

1. Prepare the tools

2. Prepare new MCB. Set the circuit breaker handle to the OFF position

You will need 1 screwdriver 1 wire cutters

How to replace MCB?

3. Turn off power supply to the electrical panel

4. Remove the electrical panel cover. Test the panel for power

How to replace MCB?

5. Remove wires from old MCB terminal AND Remove old MCB

6. Instal new MCB and connect the circuit conductors or wires to the circuit breaker terminal(s)

Make sure that wires have been connect with terminal

correctly

How to replace MCB?

7. Set the Main Switch to "On" and then set the new circuit breaker to "On“

8. Identify the circuit

How to replace MCB?

9. Make sure that MCB is not warm when it in ON position
