Interests / AspirationsDuring my degree I learnt about idea generation and producing creative outcomes, having a keeninterest in motion I pursued a career in TV / media production. I have found myself drawn to thetechnical areas, especially camera’s and editing, after working as a researcher I was finding myself insituations where i was shooting, setting up shoots and even gaining edit experience. I have nowgained experience as an assistant producer, which produces more challenges, whether I am casting,supporting a PD or managing a shoot alone I find the extra responsibility enjoyable.

This series is looking at celebrating some of the world’s biggest machines. I am currently gainingaccess with machine manufacturers and finding stories where we can see the machines in operation.Am setting up locations in Korea, Australia, America, Canada as well as Europe. Will also be shootingon a Canon XE 305 when filming and a Canon D7 for the pretties.

Assistant ProducerUp For Hire - BBC ThreeLove Productions

This will be a live series aired in October 2011 with documentary VT inserts played into the studioabout talented youngster not able to get into work. I cast the contributors for the documentary / VTside as well as setting up the shoots for prog one and three, with prog three having twelve locationsacross four countries abroad.

Due to the success of the series the BBC commissioned a follow up programme as the final show. It isfollowing the previous mums to be who are now mums and seeing if they have made those diet andlifestyle changes post pregnancy.

Was employed to watch the AP’s back whilst filming on the day of the royal wedding and May daymarch. We were a separate crew and followed a bunch of anarchists who had planned protests, I wasalso there as editorial backup, finding contributors to talk to in the crowds and also keeping an eye onthings for the crews to film, ie arrests, police presence and general anarchy.

Showboaters – Sky One HDFresh One Productions

The project took ten amateur UK performers who dreamed of being a cruise ship entertainer out to theCaribbean for six weeks in a competition based reality show with one lucky winner gaining a contracton a ship. I was brought in just before the shoot and along with another AP set up challenges for whereever the ship docked, for instance the contributors got to yacht race in Tortola, mc in Jamaica, salsa inCuba and many more. This meant working closely with tourist boards and fixers whilst on the ship. Iwas initially taken out as a support AP however ended up shooting everyday using EX 3’s, EX 3 withnano flash pIus also used the XD cam for GV’s.

At the end of the project Prospect needed two more pregnant mums to be who need to change their

lifestyle, this meant finding one mum to be who smoked and one who was overweight. I also shot onestory for the series about a mum who had trouble with eating healthily.

2010Casting ResearcherBenefits - BBC OneLove West Productions

I was based in Birmingham looking for families where financially they are better off on benefits than if they were to be in work. Not filmed yet as Expert changed his dates.

ResearcherDream School – Channel 4Fresh One Productions

Jamie Oliver took twenty children who failed in a normal education system and set up a month longintensive school where the children were taught by industry professionals rather than teachers. A DVdirector and I went home with the kids at the end of each day to see how they were getting on and forfamily reactions. I also had to live in a dome for 3 days and sail with Ellen Mcarther for a weekend withonly myself and a DV director.

Shooting ResearcherEddie Stobart, Trucks and Trailers - FivePrincess Productions

I was taken on as a shooting researcher to work across the series with a location director. I had to huntout storylines and write up story logs after we had been out. I was fortunate enough to go to Finland

following truckers, upon our return I took the story into the edit for the first week putting the storytogether. This was a great experience and something I am looking forward to doing again.

During the build up to the world cup followed a group of friends who have taken one of the world cupsslogans of Cabanga and tried to make it their own.

Was employed at the start of project alone and started the casting process for programme onethemed around un-employment. I set up the shoot and then helped cast programme three for familieswho have children that have sleep difficulties. I moved onto programme two where I also assisted theDV director with sound was second camera for the shoots.

At start of the year was back on Tower Block of Commons – Helping with Biog info on MP’s and allContributors on series, also setting up shoot for Title Sequence and supporting Series Producer on re-visit shoot.2009ResearcherFamous Rich and Jobless – BBC OneLove Productions

For this project I set up a shoot alone in Ebbw Vale South Wales finding accommodation for ourcontributor, local people dealing with all aspects of un-employment, charities, projects and employershelping to deal with unemployment. On location we were split to two teams, I was with the PD whoshot most of it with me shooting some actuality of contributor at work

Researcher Tower Block of Commons – Channel 4Love Productions

This project involved following politicians living on different social housing estates. I worked on all fourprogrammes and was mainly casting in the areas. The casting varied from heroin addicts, young gangmembers, family’s on benefits to reformed alcoholics now involved in youth work. Also found localheroes and projects within these communities.

On location shot some interviews on a Z-1, boomed for the DV director and sound recorded when crewwere on breaks.



Technical SupportMy Big Decision – BBC ThreeLove Productions

A series where we went on a road trip around the UK and Europe. I had to maintain all cameras andlighting equipment, looking after the mini cams and making sure all rushes were logged and safe. Alsoshot some GV’s.

My roles were hiring in kit, maintaining 7 Sony Z-1’s and 4 Sony DVW 790 Digi Beta cameras. Had tomake sure crews knew tape numbers, i also looked after and maintained a tape log for the production,plus making sure every tape got transferred to DVD for loggers in the Bristol office.

2006 Winner of NAHEMI / Kodak Creative Film-making award at encounters film festival for ‘WITHDICKINSON & I’.

Skills Have fine camera knowledge, used to be a camera assistant which has helped me in being able toshoot professionally for a production.

I enjoy following emerging storylines and thinking how the footage can be used editorially. I have a fine working knowledge Final Cut Pro.
