McAfee® Total Protection® (ToPS) for Endpoint is a single integrated solution that provides comprehensive protection from today’s advanced threats. Total Protection for Endpoint is the industry’s first unified platform for endpoint security and compliance management. The integrated protection it delivers lowers the cost of managing endpoint security, while simplifying compliance challenges.

The ToPS for Endpoint Trial makes deploying the evaluation version of this solution easy and efficient, so that you can quickly understand the value of ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) and the protection it manages. This 90-day evaluation provides all the necessary components for you to evaluate the ToPS for Endpoint solution. Once it is installed, you’ll be able to use default tasks and ePO dashboards to start managing your endpoint security.

The elements of Total Protection for Endpoint include a number of technologies that provide complete and total protection from today’s advanced threats for desktops, laptops, and servers.

Single, Centralized Management McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator® is the foundation of ToPS for Endpoint, delivering a coordinated, proactive defense against malicious threats and attacks. You work through a single, integrated console to keep your protection up-to-date, enforce protection policies, and lower the risk of infection and vulnerability due to noncompliant systems.

ePolicy Orchestrator makes it easier for your IT staff to enforce compliance and updates. New capabilities in reporting, workflow, and policy assignment can significantly reduce the total cost of ownership and enable increased protection. The web-based console gives customers ready access to their customized user interface and dashboards without having to install any software on their systems, and they can access it from just about anywhere.

Anti-Virus Protection The anti-virus component of ToPS for Endpoint, McAfee VirusScan® Enterprise, uses innovative technology for PCs and servers to proactively stop and remove malicious software, extend coverage against new security risks, and reduce the cost of responding to outbreaks. Enterprises cannot afford to wait for every threat to be identified and a signature file to be released. The time between attack and subsequent identification is critical, and the shorter, the better. Better yet if your protection technology identifies and handles new, unknown threats.

VirusScan Enterprise combines advanced anti-virus, firewall, and intrusion prevention technologies to protect from a broad range of threats. With advanced heuristics and generic detection, it even finds new, unknown viruses, even if they are hidden in compressed files. VirusScan Enterprise leverages advanced new detection technology, called Artemis, to capture and fingerprint malware in real-time, to quickly discover and accurately assess the risk of new threats. Artemis instantly transmits the appropriate response – without relying on new DATs or client software, or administrative effort. This leading-edge technology reduces the reliance on traditional signature-based detection mechanisms and closes the protection gap.

Anti-Spyware Protection McAfee ToPS for Endpoint includes McAfee AntiSpyware Enterprise, which is an enterprise-class anti-spyware software solution that uses true on-access scanning to identify, proactively block, and safely eliminate potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) for optimal business availability. Centrally managed by ePolicy Orchestrator, it enhances the security of your company’s computing systems by keeping them free of programs that might be watching, recording, and externally transmitting sensitive company information.

Host Intrusion Prevention & Desktop Firewall The McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention technology protects your assets with multiple proven methods, including a system firewall and both signature and behavioral analysis. Behavioral protection blocks zero-day attacks and enforces proper operating system and application behavior. Signatures block known attacks and provide administrators with complete vulnerability coverage of the threats they face. A system firewall ensures compliance to application and system access policies.

Automatic signature updates and zero-day protection give you advanced vulnerability-shielding capabilities, so that you patch systems less often and less urgently. Better protection against exploits that target new vulnerabilities means your IT staff has more time for planning, testing, and deploying patches. You’ll also find it easier to comply with legal and industry regulations.

Advanced Web Security ToPS for Endpoint includes advanced web security with McAfee SiteAdvisor® Enterprise Plus. This product helps protect users from potentially dangerous websites by blocking or providing advisory information about websites. Simple green, yellow, and red signals warn users of possible threats for webpages they visit, or even search results right on your desktop browser, with clear callouts that provide additional information about each site. McAfee Avert® Labs continually searches the Internet using various methods to find, download and scan for malicious threats on websites, including using automated methods of filling out registration forms to determine whether sign-ups trigger spam. If the site contains malicious code or other suspicious activity, SiteAdvisor blocks it. SiteAdvisor also includes whitelisting and blacklisting capabilities, allowing administrators to control which websites users can access.

Email Server Protection McAfee GroupShield® for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes Domino provides comprehensive content security for these email servers. It secures systems from harmful malware and inappropriate data that could wreak havoc on company servers and compromise your corporate systems and networks. This product features advanced content management that stops inappropriate email from coming in, and prevents sensitive data from leaking out. Stop inappropriate email in its tracks by blocking messages that contain specific words or phrases that violate content rules, and by identifying the types of files and attachments allowed to enter or leave your organization.

Anti-Spam Protection The McAfee Anti-Spam module is also part of ToPS for Endpoint. It stops the onslaught of spam that clogs email servers and can decreases user productivity and introduce security risks. This anti-spam protection is highly accurate: it has a low false-positive rate and detects more than 97% of spam, including new spamming techniques used by the most sophisticated cyber crime rings.
