During this lockdown, we hope you are well and safe, staying indoors and washing your hands. Remember to always wash your hands regularly for about 20 seconds, not to touch your face with unwashed hands and to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Take this time to also reflect on yourself and better yourself by keeping up with your academics, learning a new skill and taking care of your health. Mugs & Mallows

Mugs and Mallows is an outreach initiative where we are collecting mugs and marshmallows for over 90 kids and 25 care givers at an orphanage, called SOS Mamelodi Children’s Village. We started collecting people’s donation from the 26th of February and it is running until the 30th of April. We had Gazebo stalls from 26 to 28 February where we brought awareness of the initiative and where we collected the mugs and marshmallows donations. The three days were fun filled with a lot of energy and donation from all the students that came through and helped us with our cause. There is also a raffling running where a student stands a chance to win a bluetooth speaker. You enter the raffle the moment you donate. You could be that lucky student that wins it all. We are also planning to go to the orphanage for a day to donate all the mugs and marshmallows, and to spend the day interacting and playing with all the kids there. Volunteering to come with us to the orphanage comes with a great opportunity to get a letter of recognition for 2nd and 3rd year students to include in their CV’s. Sign-up sheet is in the office. Dates of the visitation will be communicated later. To date we have collected 69 mugs in total. Our goal is to reach 115 mugs for all the kids and caregivers. We are left with 46 mugs left and can’t wait for the amazing donation still to come. Thank you to all the amazing souls that have helped out and donat-ed so far.

Donut Sale

Come and Indulge in some yummy yummy donuts. Next quarter we’ll being having a donut sale to feed your soul with some happiness. The money collected is meant to help facilitate another program later on this term. Do come get some yummy donuts. Stay tuned on our Insta-gram for the dates of when we’ll be out and about with the donuts.
